Omaha, Neb. -- The Creighton women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to Xavier on Sunday, October 3rd
The loss moved the Bluejays to 6-5-2 on the season and 0-3-1 in BIG EAST action, while Xavier climbed to 10-1-1 overall and 3-1-0 in conference play.
Xavier scored in the fifth minute (4:59) on a ball served toward the net by Hayley Jakovich. The line judge ruled a Xavier offensive player offside, but the center official allowed the goal as the offending player did not touch the ball.
The second tally of the match was equally unique as Creighton goalkeeper Keelan Terrell's attempt to clear a ball was deflected into the net by Xavier's Shelby Sallee in the 68th minute (67:27).
Creighton was out shot 17-to-4 in the match, but held an 8-4 advantage on corners earned.
The Bluejays' next two matches come on the road as Creighton faces Villanova on Sunday, October 10th and Connecticut on Thursday, Oct. 14th.
