Volleyball Slips to 19th in AVCA Poll; Now 22nd in RPI

Creighton among national leaders with with 15 victories
OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton Volleyball fell three spots to No. 19 in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 poll a 1-1 road trip last weekend.
Creighton is also 22nd in the initial edition of the official version of the RPI released by the NCAA.
The Bluejays, which had been No. 16 in the AVCA poll each of the past two weeks, have now been ranked in each of the last five weeks and 82 times overall.. CU's all-time best ranking in program history is No. 7, which came in the poll released on Aug. 28, 2017. Creighton is 129-33 all-time when playing as a ranked team in the AVCA poll, including a 57-9 mark at home. This is the 10th straight season that Creighton has spent at least one week in the top-25, extending another program record.
Creighton's BIG EAST rival, Marquette, is the top team listed under "also receiving votes" after improving to 13-2 overall. The Golden Eagles are atop the BIG EAST standings at 4-0 in league play.
Creighton returns home this weekend when it hosts DePaul on Friday at 6;30 p.m. and Marquette on Sunday at 1 p.m. Both contests will be televised by Nebraska Public Media.
