Nashville, Tenn. -- The Creighton baseball team suffered a 3-2 defeat in the first game of a scheduled doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 27 with Belmont University.

The Bluejays scrapped across a run in the fifth as sophomore Andrew Meggs laced a single up the middle, went to third on a single from junior David Webel and crossed the plate as senior Parker Upton reached on an error.
Creighton's second run of the contest came in the sixth as freshman Alan Roden blasted a leadoff double, took third via a single by Jared Wegner and crossed the plate on a sacrifice fly by Sterling Hayes.
