Bluejays and Bears will meet at the Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Missouri
OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton men's soccer head coach Johnny Torres announced on Monday the addition of a match against Missouri State on March 10 at the Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Missouri. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
Creighton and Missouri State originally canceled a match scheduled for later in March because of a revised Missouri Valley Conference schedule, but both programs and the Swope Soccer Village were able to successfully reschedule for March 10. Live video will not be available. Additional information regarding the availability of live stats will be provided closer to the date of the match.
The Bluejays and Bears met in 2019 for an exhibition match at Morrison Stadium. The last regular-season meeting between the programs was on Sept. 29, 2015, a 4-0 Creighton victory in Omaha. The two schools met annually from 1992-2012 as Missouri Valley Conference foes. The Bluejays lead the all-time series, 22-8-4, including 5-0-0 in five neutral site matches.Â
Creighton currently holds a 1-1-0 record in the spring of 2021, while Missouri State sports a 1-0-0 mark. The Bears finished 2019 with an 18-1-1 record and ended their season in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.Â
The Bluejays open their 2021 spring home schedule on Saturday against Xavier at 11 a.m. at Morrison Stadium.
