Bluejays Rally Past Lady Bears in Exhibition Match, 2-1

Kansas City, Mo. -- Powered by goals from junior Ansley Atkinson and sophomore Renée Pountney, the Creighton women's soccer team defeated Missouri State 2-1 in an exhibition match on Tuesday, August 10.
The Lady Bears took an early lead with a goal in the 17th minute, before Atkinson knotted the match at 1-1. Atkinson fielded a pass from junior Cristian Garriga in the 42nd minute, sending it to the back of the net.
The game-winning goal came from Pountney in the 50th minute via an unassisted goal.
Creighton opens the regular season on Thursday, August 19 at home against Montana. The match is set for a 7:00 pm kickoff.
