Bluejay Women's Soccer Posts Fourth Straight Shutout in 2-0 Win Over NDSU

Omaha, Neb. -- The Creighton women's soccer team delivered its fourth consecutive shutout in a 2-0 win over North Dakota State on Thursday, Sept. 9.
With the win the Bluejays climbed to 5-1-1 on the season, while the Bison fell to 0-5-1.
Controlling possession throughout the opening half, the Bluejays got on the board in the 44th minute on a corner. Senior Ansley Atkinson sent a ball into from the corner that glanced off of junior Jordy Rothwell and Bison goalkeeper Sofia Howe to the sophomore Abigail Santana. The Iowa native blasted in her fifth goal of the season, while Atkinson and Rothwell collected assists.
After halftime Creighton added some insurance in the 69th minute as junior Aida Kardovic converted a pentaly kick for her first goal of the season.
The Bluejay defense limited North Dakota State to one shot in the opening half and just three in the match.
Creighton goalkeeper Keelan Terrell extended her scoreless streak to 383 minutes (383:20) as the Bluejays sent off long time administrator Kevin Sarver with a win. A 36-year veteran at Creighton, Sarver's last day as a Bluejay is Friday.
The Bluejays conclude its five-game stretch against Summit League opponents on Sunday, Sept. 12 as Creighton faces the Roos in Kansas City at 2:00 pm.
