Men's Tennis Downed by Nebraska in Spring Season Opener, 7-0

Lincoln, Neb. -- Forced to adjust after North Dakota was forced to pull out of its scheduled match on Sunday, the Creighton men's tennis team faced off with Nebraska on Saturday, Jan. 15. Despite taking the opening doubles match 6-2, the Bluejays fell to the Huskers 7-0.
The loss moved Creighton to 0-1 in 2022, while Nebraska climbed to 1-0.
The tandem of senior Casey Ross and sophomore Matthew Lanahan opened the match with a 6-2 win in the top doubles battle. Nebraska, however, rallied with victories in second and third doubles slots to take the doubles point.
Creighton fell in straight sets in each of the singles matches. Lanahan delivered the strongest performance, forcing a tiebreaker in the opening set before falling 7-6 (4), 6-4.
Creighton returns to action on Friday, Jan. 21 at Air Force in a match scheduled to begin at 5:00 pm.
