Softball Honors 11 NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes

OMAHA, Neb. – The Creighton softball team had 11 players honored as 2021-22 Easton/NFCA All-Americaa Scholar-Athletes, as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
The 11 Bluejays to earn the prestigious honor included: Sam Alm, Izzy Berning, Saren Croker, Jena Lawrence, Brittney Manthie, Kate Mason, Kate Mullally, Cayla Nielsen, Emma Rosonke, Madeline Vejvoda and Kailey Wilson.
Student-athletes who achieve a 3.5 or better GPA on a 4.0 scale are eligible for the individual honor. The rankings and honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association's membership categories. Overall, 7,527 student-athletes (NCAA DI, DII, DIII, NAIA, JUCO and high school) garnered the award.
Croker, Mason, Mullally and Vejvoda each earned perfect 4.0 GPAs during the 2022 spring semester.
Creighton's 11 NFCA Scholar-Athletes were also part of the teams 20 student-athletes honored by the BIG EAST Conference in July on the 2021-22 BIG EAST All-Academic Team (minimum 3.0 GPA).
The 2021-22 Bluejay softball team also earned a team award from the NFCA after accumulating a 3.44 GPA for the academic year.
