West Staying Durable
Senior catcher Lily West has been a fixture in the Bluejays starting lineup since stepping foot on campus in 2023 and is reaching uncharted territory as she has started in all 202 games of her Bluejay career.Â
Her 202 consecutive starts are the most consecutive starts by a Bluejay since Jessica Wakasugi started 216 straight games from 2006-09.Â
With her start against Seattle on March 26, West became just fourth Bluejay since 1999 to start 200 consecutive games, joining Heidi Geier (2001-04, 210 games), Lauren Cisneros (2003-06, 219 games) and Wakasugi (2006-09, 216 games). In addition, West became just the 15th Bluejay overall to start 200 career games since 1999.
Small-Ball Bluejays
Creighton has prided itself as building triple-threat players at the plate, perfecting the ability to lay down a bunt at any given time.Â
This season, Creighton is hitting .519 (14-of-27) with 18 sacrifices in bunting opportunities. Junior Ashten Pierson is 8-of-15 (.533 BA) with a team-high 10 sacrifice bunts, while freshman Zoey Greenwood has converted 4-of-5 bunts and recorded four sacrifices this spring.Â
Last season, the Bluejays converted 26 sacrifice bunts, led by Pierson with 11.Â
Close Call
Through 36 games this season, Creighton has already played 12 games decided by two or less runs, including seven one-run contests.Â
Despite keeping it close, the Bluejays are just 6-6 in close games this season, which including a 4-3 mark in one-run games. Â
Last season, Creighton played 23 games decided by two or less runs, posting an 11-12 overall record, while recording an 7-10 record in one-run contests.
CU Launching Pad
Creighton has also produced some big hitters throughout its powerful lineup over the years and that trend has continued this season.Â
CU has blasted a total of 30 home runs this season, including 12 blasts within the friendly confines of the Creighton Softball Stadium.
Among the 12 home runs hit inside the Creighton Softball Stadium by Creighton, are two walk-off home runs, a pinch-hit grand slam, a leadoff homer and five go-ahead blasts. Â
Since joining the BIG EAST in 2014, the most home runs a Creighton team has hit during a single season at home is 30 (2025).Â
Sophomore Tara Vandewater and freshman Keegan Mayhue led the way with three home runs at home this season, while Erika Peres follows closely behind with two of her own

A New Place to Call Home
The Creighton Softball program entered a new era on March 13th against Providence when the Bluejays opened its new state-of-the-art facility that ranks amongst the finest in all of Nebraska in the new Creighton Softball Stadium.
Built in conjunction of Creighton's $300 million Fly Together project, the Creighton Softball Stadium is the first of several key elements in the continued renovation of the athletic corridor on the east side of campus.
The 79,011-square-foot stadium features state-of-the-art Triple Threat FieldTurf across the entire playing surface, as well as a 15' 11 1/8" x 31' 6 5/16' fully electronic Daktronics DVX-2802 video/scoreboard in right-center field that will be operated from a new press box. The press box amenities include radio/TV booths, as well as separate space for the public address announcer, official scorer and local/national media. Key analytical technology, such as Trackman and an AWEAR Camera System, will provide enhanced statistical data to elevate player development.
The facility also features three pitching rubbers in both the home and visiting bullpen areas, just down the line from sunken dugouts that include storage space and player restrooms.
In addition, the facility has 298 fixed seats and a capacity of 600 with the potential for seating to be added in the future. Restrooms and concessions spaces will be provided at the main entrance of the stadium. Additionally, the facility is accessible to individuals with disabilities and seating inside the stadium meets ADA standards.
The field's dimensions are 200' down the left field line, 220' to straight-away center and 200' down the right field line.Â
