Keys To the Game on December 30 (St. John's)
- Defense: The Bluejays and Red Storm split a pair of games last season, with each squad winning on its home floor. In Creighton's loss St. John's jumped out to a early 23-14 lead by shooting 64% from the field and Unique Drake went 6-for-11. With St. John's as strong defensively as they are, the Bluejays must match that intensity at both ends.
- Ball Security: Last season the Bluejays committed 12 and 13 turnovers in the two games with the Red Storm. More importantly the turnovers led to 11 and 10 points respectively.
- Post Play: Flan comments in many interviews that the Bluejays cannot change the height of their squad, thus every opponent will try to take advantage in the post. St. John's will likely try to feed Jillian Archer early to test Creighton's defense.
