Bluejay Baseball Faces Old Foe in Wichita this Weekend

Wichita, Kan. -- Forced to shorten and relocate their home series to Wichita this weekend, Creighton is slated to face its former Missouri Valley foe Wichita State in contests on Saturday and Sunday.

Scouting the Shockers (2023: 9-7, 0-0 AAC)
Led by two-way player Payton Tolle, the Shockers are 9-7 overall and 5-3 at home in 2023. Tolle has a team-best .368 average at the plate with three HR and 15 RBI
The projected starter on Sunday, Tolle has a 3.13 ERA in four starts. He has tossed 23.0 innings, allowing 10 runs (eight earned) on 18 hits with seven walks and 24 strikeouts.
As a team the Shockers are hitting .291, while on the bump Wichita State has a team ERA of 4.06. Three different Shocker pitchers enter the series tied for the team lead with one save.

For the second consecutive weekend, weather has forced Creighton to shorten and relocate its scheduled home series. Last weekend the Bluejays moved their home series with BYU to Lawrence, playing two games with the Cougars.
This weekend the series has been flipped to Wichita for two games with the Shockers.
Creighton enters the two-game set at 6-6. As a team the Bluejays are hitting .262, led by Nolan Sailors at .375 and Sterling Hayes at .297.
On the bump the Bluejays bring a 5.97 ERA into the game on Wednesday. Ryan Windham and Justin Kleinsorge will start the two games for Creighton.
Sailors Steady Atop Bluejay Lineup
Sophomore Nolan Sailors has been a rock for the Bluejays this season. The Omaha native has an 11-game hitting streak entering the Wichita series. Creighton's everyday center fielder moved into the leadoff slot during the Cal State Northridge series.
Sailors it hitting .375 with a team-leading 18 hits and is 4-of-5 on the base paths.
