Bluejay Baseball Suffers Sweep at Seton Hall, Falling 11-6 on Sunday

The loss moved Creighton to 23-22 on the season and 9-9 in BIG EAST action, while Seton Hall climbed to 28-22 overall and 10-8 in conference play.
Designated hitter Colby Canales and left fielder Jack Grace provided the offense for the Bluejays. Canales lifted an RBI double to left field in the second and blasted a two-run home run in the fourth, while Grace connected for his 11th home run of the season in the eighth to drive home three runs.
Seton Hall, however, scored four runs in the second and six runs in the sixth, highlighted by a grand slam from shortstop Max Viera in in the sixth.
Pirate starter Cole Hansen earned the win (4-1), allowing three runs on three hits and two walks in six innings. Creighton starter Justin Kleinsorge took the loss (1-3), giving up five runs on five hits and two walks in three innings.
Canales and Grace ended the day with four of Creighton's six hits, going 2-for-4 and 2-for-3 respectively.
The Bluejays close out the 2023 regular season with four home games next weekend. Creighton hosts Omaha in its annual Cox Kids Game at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, then begins a three-game series with No. 9 Connecticut at Charles Schwab Field on Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
