Bluejays and Husker Finish Season Series on Tuesday

Omaha, Neb. -- Creighton and Nebraska Baseball will finish their game from April 18 (Tied 4-4 in the bottom of the seventh) at 5:00 p.m., then play the final game of the season series at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9 at Charles Schwab Field Omaha.
Setting the stage for the resumed game, which was put into lightning delay in Lincoln on the afternoon of April 18, the contest will pick up in the bottom of the seventh inning with the Huskers batting. The bases are loaded with no outs for Nebraska while Creighton reliever Malakai Vetock is one the mound.

Scouting the Huskers: 25-19
The Huskers are 4-6 in midweek contests this season but 2-1 when the road team in those matchups with the sole loss being the March 21 affair with Creighton when the Bluejays came back to walk off Nebraska 6-5.
In the last week Nebraska is 1-3 after falling in a midweek to North Dakota State Wednesday and dropping two of three in a weekend series at No. 23 Maryland. Across that span the Huskers offense is batting .235 which has bumped their season average down to .301. The pitching staff has also struggled in those four game, surrendering 44 runs (36 earned, 9.53 ERA) with a 2.00 WHIP.
Scouting the Bluejays: 22-18
The Bluejays are 2-5 in midweek contests this season with a 2-2 record when those games are on their home field of Charles Schwab Field Omaha.
After coming off a hot streak of eight games where the Bluejays went 7-1 and averaged 10.25 runs per game, Creighton's offense went cold over the weekend against Xavier, scoring just two runs in three games. In the 27 innings the Bluejays tallied just 14 hits, two walks, and 13 runners left on base.
A bright spot for the Bluejays of late has been the exceptional bullpen. Across the last six games in two conference weekend series, Creighton relievers own a 2.57 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and 20 strikeouts in 21 innings pitched.
Creighton and Nebraska Baseball To Resume Suspended Game Prior to May 9 Tilt
Creighton and Nebraska will resume the April 19 game, suspended by lightning, on Tuesday, May 9 at 5:00 p.m. at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha. The Huskers will be the home team in the resumed game, batting with the bases loaded and no outs in the bottom of the seventh.
Following the completion of the suspended game, the Huskers and Bluejays will meet in the series finale scheduled for 7:06 p.m. on CBS Sports Network. The regularly scheduled game will not begin early.
Servais Continues to Climb Historic Rankings
Entering the season with 800 wins, Creighton head coach Ed Servais ranked 22nd in the NCAA in victories by an active coach. He also sat 14th overall with a .642 winning percentage.
Servais now has 822 wins and is 822-463-2 overall (.641).
In-State Rivalries Have Intensified of Late
Rivalries truly begin when wins come on all sides. Until recently Nebraska owned the series with Creighton as well as Omaha. Over the last five years, however, the Bluejays and Mavericks began to assert themselves.
Recall 2019 when all three teams in the State of Nebraska reached the NCAA Tournament.
