
Softball Honors 13 NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes

OMAHA, Neb. – The Creighton softball team had 13 players honored as 2022-23 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes, as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
The 13 Bluejays to earn the prestigious honor included: Elly Beeson, Izzy Berning, Saren Croker, Ella Dalton, Alyssa Gappa, Jena Lawrence, Kate Mason, Jordyn Meyer, Cayla Nielsen, Emma Rosonke, Sydra Seville, Madeline Vejvoda and Kailey Wilson.
Student-athletes who achieve a 3.5 or better GPA on a 4.0 scale are eligible for the individual honor. The rankings and honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association's membership categories. Overall, 8,297 student-athletes (NCAA DI, DII, DIII, NAIA and JUCO) garnered the award, more than a 700 student-athlete increase from last year.
Croker, Lawrence, Mason, Nielsen and WIlson each earned perfect 4.0 GPAs during the 2023 spring semester, while Croker and Lawrence each earned 4.0 GPAs in both semesters. Berning, Croker, Lawrence, Mason, Nielsen, Rosonke, Vejvoda and Wilson all claimed their second straight Easton/NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete award, while Beeson, Dalton, Gappa, Meyer and Seville all earned their first honor.
Creighton's 13 NFCA Scholar-Athletes ranked tied for third-most in the BIG EAST as Seton Hall lead the way with 19 honorees. Villanova followed with 16, while Butler had 13 individuals receive honors.
