Blossom Announces Promotions For Five Athletic Department Staffers

OMAHA, Neb. -- McCormick Endowed Athletic Director Marcus Blossom has announced promotions to five individuals in recognition of their outstanding service to the Creighton Athletic Department.

Those receiving new titles include Rob Anderson, Ben McNair, Curtis Self, James Benzel and Andre Streete.

Anderson has been Creighton's Sports Information Director since December of 2001 and will now be Assistant Athletic Director, Communications. CU's Sports Information Office will also be rebranded to Athletic Communications as part of the changes.

McNair takes on the role of Director of Athletic Medicine after serving as Head Athletic Trainer since his return to Creighton in August of 2007.

Self and Benzel have each been promoted to the role of Associate Athletic Trainer. Self joined Creighton's Athletic Training staff in February of 2008, while Benzel arrived at CU in July of 2022. Both had previously been Assistant Athletic Trainers.

Streete will now be Creighton's Assistant Athletic Director, Athletic Development and Sport Administration after previously serving as Assistant Director of Athletic Development. He arrived at Creighton in August of 2021 as a graduate assistant in athletics development and ticketing before being hired full-time as the Assistant Director of Athletic Development in January of 2023.
