Creighton (3-1) heads to Las Vegas, Nev., for three games in the GEICO Players Era Men's Championship.
The Bluejays play at 1 p.m. Central on both Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 24th & Nov. 25th, in the first game of each day at Michelob ULTRA Arena (12,000).
Monday's contest is a game against Baylor (3-0), while Tuesday's game is against No. 16 Iowa State (4-0).
The time, day and site of Creighton's third game in Las Vegas is expected to be announced after all nine games in the tournament conclude on Tuesday evening.

Both the Baylor and Iowa State games in Las Vegas will be televised on truTV, and streamed for a fee at https://www.hbomax.com/sports.
Brian Anderson, Grant Hill and Lauren Jbara will call Monday's action against Baylor.

Scouting Creighton
Creighton is off to a 3-1 start to the season, with home wins over South Dakota (92-76), Maryland Eastern Shore (84-45) and North Dakota (75-60) as well as a 90-63 loss at No. 19 Gonzaga.
Eight Bluejays average between 6.0 and 13.0 points per game, led by sophomore Blake Harper (13.0 ppg., 7.5 rpg.). CU's top four leading scorers are newcomers as Harper is joined by Josh Dix (11.0), Nik Graves (10.8), and Owen Freeman (10.8), who also contribute at a double-figure clip. All told, 67.5 percent of Creighton's points have come from its newcomers thus far.
Creighton is averaging 78.5 points per game and outrebounding foes by 9.0 caroms per contest.

Scouting Baylor
Baylor is 3-0 this season after high-scoring home wins over UTRGV (96-81), Washington (78-69) and Tarleton State (94-81).
Only eight Bears have seen the court this season, and seven of them average at least 6.0 points per game. That group is led by Cameron Carr (23.7 ppg., .676 FG%, .529 3FG%), Tounde Yessoufou (16.3 ppg., 2.7 spg.) and Dan Skillings Jr. (13.3 ppg;., 6.0 rpg.).
The Bears score 89.3 points per game and shoot 51.1 percent from the field, 35.9 percent from downtown and 71.6 percent at the line.

The Series With Baylor
Creighton is 4-2 all-time against Baylor, and have split four meetings with the Bears on a neutral floor.
The teams last met in the 2023 NCAA Tournament, when Ryan Nembhard scored 30 points as sixth-seeded Creighton upended the Bears 85-76 in the Second Round of an eventual Elite Eight run.
The only time Creighton ever ventured to Waco on Dec. 4, 1999, the Bluejays trailed 61-47 with three minutes to play in regulation before a big run and Ben Walker runner at the buzzer tied the score at 67 and forced overtime. In the overtime, Creighton took its first lead of the day and held on to win by one.
Greg McDermott is 3-4 in his career against Baylor (2-2 as Iowa State coach, 1-2 as Creighton coach and Scott Drew.

Scouting #16 Iowa State
Iowa State is 4-0 with four double-digit victories, handling FDU (88-50), Grambling (102-62), Mississippi State (96-80) and Stonehill (96-57) thus far.
Tamin Lipsey, who missed the exhibition meeting vs. Creighton, has averaged 19.0 points and 5.3 assists per game while shooting 57.7 percent from the floor and swiping 15 steals.
Also scoring in double-figures are Joshua Jefferson (18.8 ppg., 7.8 rpg.) and sharpshooter Milan Momcilovic (15.3 ppg.).
Traditionally known for their lockdown defense, the Cyclones average 95.5 points per game and allow just 62.3 points per contest while forcing 20.8 turnovers per game. ISU shoots 54.2 percent from the field and outrebounds foes by 7.0 boards per game.

The Series With Iowa State
Iowa State owns a 17-15 record all-time against Creighton in games that count, splitting two games on a neutral floor.
Creighton beat the Cyclones 71-58 on Oct. 17 in Omaha in an exhibition contest. The teams last met in a game that counted on Dec. 4, 2021, when No. 19 ISU won 64-58 at CHI Health Center Omaha.
Greg McDermott is 1-6 in his career against Iowa State in games that count, going 1-4 as UNI head coach and 0-2 as CU head coach against the Cyclones.
The teams have also played a closed scrimmage each of the previous three seasons, with each of the last two battles being one-possession games.

The Creighton Coaches
Greg McDermott (Northern Iowa, 1988) owns a 353-172 record in his 16th season with the Bluejays. He owns a career mark of 633-367 in his 32nd season, and is 502-303 in 25 Division I campaigns.
McDermott led Creighton to its first BIG EAST regular-season title in 2019-20, taking a Bluejay team that was picked seventh in the league's preseason poll and ending the year ranked seventh nationally. The Cascade, Iowa native has coached Creighton to a share of its first regular-season BIG EAST title in 2019-20 its first Sweet 16 since 1974 in 2020-21 and its first Elite Eight since 1941 in 2022-23.
McDermott has previously been a head coach at Iowa State (2006-10), Northern Iowa (2001-06), North Dakota State (2000-01) and Wayne State (1994-2000).
He is assisted by Alan Huss, Derek Kellogg, Trey Zeigler, Mitch Ballock and Mike Nesbitt.

GEICO Players Era Men's Championship Details
The GEICO Players Era Men's Championship has expanded from eight teams a year ago to 18 teams this season.
One eight-team grouping that plays its first two games at Michelob ULTRA Arena on Monday & Tuesday consists of Baylor, Creighton, Iowa State, St. John's, Auburn, Oregon, Michigan and San Diego State. The 10-team group that plays its first two games at MGM Grand Garden Arena is Tennessee, Rutgers, Kansas, Notre Dame, Houston, Syracuse, Alabama, Gonzaga, Maryland and UNLV.
Following Tuesday's games, teams will be reseeded to set match-ups for Wednesday or Thursday. Tiebreakers, per the event manual, include: Overall Record; Head-to-Head; Total Point Differential (each game capped at +/- 20), Total Points Scored, Fewest Points Allowed, AP ranking on Nov. 24.

Sin City Spectacular
This week is Creighton's 10th trip ever to Las Vegas, and sixth since 2012. That doesn't count a 2023 game against UNLV in nearby Henderson, Nev.
The Bluejays are 10-7 all-time in Las Vegas, and 6-5 under Greg McDermott.
Creighton's only previous games inside Michelob ULTRA Arena came on Dec. 10 & 12, 2022, where Creighton lost a pair of one-possession games without Ryan Kalkbrenner.

Tournament Success
Creighton has had some great success in tournament play in recent seasons, especially under Greg McDermott.
In McDermott's tenure, CU is 38-13 in regular-season tournament action with five titles in 15 completed events.
Since 2002-03, Creighton is 51-17 (23-0 at home) with eight titles in 20 preseason tournaments, as seen below. Creighton last lost at home in a regular-season tournament in 1975.
With three games on the docket this week, it's worth noting that Creighton has had a .500 record or better in 12 of its 15 previous MTE's and tournaments under McDermott.

Postseason Success
Creighton has won at least one NCAA Tournament game in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025. That makes CU one of four teams in the country to have a win in each of the last five NCAA Tournaments, joining Baylor, Gonzaga and Houston.
This is the first time that Creighton Basketball has won an NCAA Tournament game in five straight years. The only other CU program in any sport to win an NCAA Tournament game in five straight seasons is Creighton Volleyball (2015-19).
Even though a certain NCAA bid was wiped away in 2020 by COVID-19, Creighton has still appeared in each of the last five NCAA Tournaments (2021-25).
The only previous time that Creighton has appeared in five straight NCAA Tournaments was from 1999-2003.

Bodo Bodo Reunion?
One of the prized transfers in Baylor's recruiting class was Juslin Bodo Bodo, who has yet to play this season due to injury.
Bodo Bodo spent the previous two seasons at High Point, earning a pair of Big South Defensive Player of the Year honors and averaging 8.4 rebounds per game.
Bodo Bodo's head coach at High Point was Alan Huss, while his assistants included Mike Nesbitt and Trey Zeigler (year 1 only). Huss, Nesbitt and Zeigler are now all on the Creighton staff as assistant coaches.

Familiar Faces
Creighton and Iowa State features a pair of programs who are quite familiar with each other.
Creighton head coach Greg McDermott was the head coach at Iowa State from 2006-10, where he won 59 games in four seasons.
When McDermott was on the Iowa State staff, his staff included current ISU head coach T.J. Otzelberger and current ISU assistant Erik Crawford.
One of Iowa State's other current assistants, Kyle Green, was on McDermott's staff at Northern Iowa.
And yet another ISU assistant, Diante Garrett, played for McDermott during his Cyclone tenure.

The Rematch
Tuesday won't be the first time that Creighton and Iowa State have faced off this season, as the teams already played on Oct. 17 in Omaha. Creighton won that game, 71-58.
In that contest, Iowa State took a 6-0 lead and led 8-4 before Creighton embarked on a 23-0 run. The Jays led 46-23 at half and by as much as 54-26 before ultimately settling for the 13-point victory.
This year's exhibition was set up and announced on May 20th, long before the pairings for the 18-team Players Era Men's Championship event were announced on July 1st.

Last Wednesday's win vs. North Dakota marked Greg McDermott's 1,000th game as a head coach in 32 seasons as a head coach.
McDermott owns a 633-367 record, which includes a 116-53 record at Wayne State from 1994-2000, a 15-11 mark at North Dakota State in 2000-01, a 90-63 record from 2001-06 at Northern Iowa, a 59-68 record from 2006-10 at Iowa State and a 353-172 record from 2010-Present at Creighton.

Greer Makes Debut
Hudson Greer's potential redshirt was pulled prior to Creighton's fourth game of the year on Nov. 19 vs. North Dakota.
The Texas native made an instant impact, finishing with seven rebounds, four assists, one point and one block in 13 minutes.
Greer is just the seventh Bluejay freshman under Greg McDermott to have any game with seven rebounds and four assists, joining Doug McDermott, Khryi Thomas (2x), Ronnie Harrell Jr., Justin Patton, Ty-Shon Alexander and Marcus Zegarowski.
Greer's seven rebounds were the most by a Creighton freshman in their debut since Arthur Kaluma had eight in 2021.

Random Stats
Owen Freeman became Creighton's first player in the Greg McDermott era (since 2010) to shoot 100 percent from the field, own 3+ blocks and own multiple steals in a game when he did it against North Dakota on Nov. 19th.
Freeman is also one of three Bluejays in the last 20 seasons with at least 13 points, eight regbounds, three blocks and three steals in the same game, joining Ryan Kalkbrenner and Baylor Scheierman.

Coaching Consistency Is Key
Between women's basketball coach Jim Flanery (454) and men's basketball coach Greg McDermott (353), Creighton is the nation's only school with a pair of active head coaches with at least 350 victories at their current school.
Flanery (hired in 2002) and McDermott (2010) also make Creighton one of three schools to have the same men's and women's basketball head coaches each of the last 15 seasons, joining Boise State (Leon Rice and Gordy Presnell) and Northern Iowa (Ben Jacobsen and Tanya Warren).

Preseason All-BIG EAST Votes Revealed
The Creighton men's basketball team was picked to finish third in the BIG EAST Conference in the annual survey of league coaches, which was unveiled as part of 2025 BIG EAST Media Day on October 21.
It marks the fourth straight year the Bluejays have been tabbed for a top-three finish and the third time CU has been picked exactly third in the BIG EAST poll, having also happened in 2013-14 as well as 2016-17.
Defending league champion St. John's garnered 7-of-11 first place votes and was chosen atop the poll with 97 points, just ahead of Connecticut. The Huskies collected four first place votes and 94 points. Creighton was third with 80 points, just ahead of Providence (64) and Marquette (60). The second half of the league poll consists of Georgetown (57), Villanova (50), Xavier (33), DePaul (29), Butler (26) and Seton Hall (15).
Creighton finished 25-11 overall and 15-5 in BIG EAST play last season and returns starters Jackson McAndrew (7.8 ppg., 4.4 rpg.) and Jasen Green (4.9 ppg., 3.2 rpg.) along with a talented crop of newcomers.
Three of those newcomers join McAndrew with Preseason All-BIG EAST accolades, giving CU four honorees for the first time since its 2022-23 team that eventually finished the season in the Elite Eight. Owen Freeman was voted a Preseason All- BIG EAST First Team selection and Josh Dix was a Preseason All-BIG EAST Second Team choice. McAndrew and Nik Graves were both Preseason All-BIG EAST Third Team honorees.
Freeman is the eighth different Bluejay to earn Preseason All-BIG EAST First Team recognition, and first to do it prior to playing a game with the Bluejays. It also means CU has had a First Team pick each of the last four seasons, as Trey Alexander was chosen prior to 2023-24 and Ryan Kalkbrenner was honored each of the previous three campaigns.
Creighton has matched or exceeded its preseason projection in all but one season since joining the BIG EAST in 2013-14, the best showing in the league in that time. The Bluejays are seeking a 10th straight finish in the top four of the league standings.

NBA Jays
There are five former Creighton players in the NBA this season.
Former Creighton All-American Doug McDermott is with the Sacramento Kings as he begins his 12th year in the NBA. He was a Lottery pick in 2014 by the Denver Nuggets.
Baylor Scheierman is in his second year with the Boston Celtics after being a First Round pick in 2024.
Trey Alexander, who was named 2024-25 G-League Rookie of the Year in the Denver Nuggets organization, is now on a two-way contract with the New Orleans Pelicans.
There is palpable buzz around Ryan Kalkbrenner, a Second Round pick of the Charlotte Hornets, in his rookie campaign.
Lastly, former Creighton point guard Ryan Nembhard is on a two-way contract with the Dallas Mavericks. Nembhard played two years at Creighton before finishing his career at Gonzaga.
These men give Creighton at least one NBA player for the 42nd time in the last 43 seasons.
Other famous Bluejays to play in the NBA in the past include Paul Silas, Kyle Korver, Benoit Benjamin and Anthony Tolliver.

McChesney On The Mend
Liam McChesney is a rare seventh-year junior who saw his first regular-season action in 979 days on Nov. 5 against South Dakota. He played just over four minutes, collecting a rebound and a blocked shot but missing both field goal attempts.
McChesney began his career in 2019-20 when he redshirted at Utah State. He played in three games at Utah State in 2020-21 before suffering a season-ending broken ankle.
The Prince Rupert, Canada native then transferred to Illinois State, where he played in 60 games and made 27 starts for the Redbirds in two seasons from 2021-23.
McChesney transferred to High Point to play for then-Panther head coach Alan Huss (now Creighton's associate head coach and head coach in waiting), but was sidelined after a preseason medical evaluation revealed an issue with one of his heart valves, which led to heart surgery that has caused him to miss the past two seasons as his weight dropped 208 to 172 pounds.
McChesney transferred to Creighton this summer and continues his comeback.

The Creighton men's basketball team was ranked 23rd in the Associated Press Preseason Top 25 poll, the fourth straight season the Bluejays have been ranked among the nation's best in the preseason.
This year's announcement marks the eighth time in program history the writers have voted CU to the Top 25 in the preseason, joining 2006-07 (No. 19), 2012-13 (No. 16) and 2016-17 (No. 22), 2020-21 (No. 11), 2022-23 (No. 9), 2023-24 (No. 8) and 2024-25 (No. 15). All seven of those teams would end up in the NCAA Tournament, with three of the four most recent squads making the Sweet 16.
Creighton's best ranking in program history is seventh, done five times (Jan. 16, 2017, March 10, 2020, March 18, 2020, Jan. 7, 2021 and Nov. 28, 2022).
Including this year's preseason ranking, Creighton has now been ranked 148 times in program history, with 120 of those under the direction of Greg McDermott. McAndrew Set A Freshman Record
Jackson McAndrew made 69 three-pointers last season, the most in Creighton history by a freshman and ahead of some impressive names.

Greg McDermott has 353 victories at Creighton, passing his predecessor Dana Altman (327) for the most in program history in CU's Nov. 13, 2024 win vs. Houston Christian.
McDermott broke a different record on Jan. 21, 2025 at DePaul when he coached his 504th game on the Bluejay sideline, breaking the mark of 503 held by Altman.
McDermott's .672 winning percentage is Creighton's best since Arthur A. Schabinger's .714 win rate from 90 years ago.
