Scouting the Red Storm (2025: 19-14, 6-0 BIG EAST)
With sweeps over Seton Hall and Xavier to open BIG EAST play, St. John's has grabbed first control of conference action in the first two weeks.
Entering the weekend series the Red Storm are hitting .295 as a team, led by six players at .300 or more. The top three hitters are Jared Beebe (.365), Jayder Raifstanger (.363) and Shaun McMillan (.360).
On the mound St. John's is considerably less impressive with a team ERA of 7.07. The Red Storm have notched 221 strikeouts in 292.2 innings, but have issued 242 free passes (184 walks and 58 HBP).
Scouting the Bluejays (2025: 20-12, 3-3 BIG EAST)
Creighton has dropped four of its last five games, but the St. John's series presents an opportunity to flip fortunes. Creighton is 8-4 at home this season, including a series win over Connecticut
two weeks ago.
Creighton is hitting a .276 as a team, led by senior Nolan Sailors (.403), junior Ben North (.339) and Connor Capece (.308).

14th Anniversary of Charles Schwab
This weekend marks the 14th anniversary of the first regular season college baseball game that was played on April 19th, 2011. The first game was between the Creighton Bluejays and Nebraska Huskers. The first College World Series in the new stadium was hosted later that year in June.
Jack Torosian is Tied for Second for Most Pinch Hits in a Season during the Ed Servais Era
Jack Torosian is currently 6-for-9 on pinch hits for the 2025 season. The Omaha native blasted a two-run triple in a 9-5 win at Nebraska. He also belted a tenth inning pinch-hit home run at Samford. He is tied with Andrew Meggs who went 6-for-19 in 2019.
Nobody has had more since David Schultz went 7-for-19 in 2005. Following them at fourth is Ian Dike who hit five pinch hats in 13 at-bats in 2008. There are currently six players tied at fifth with four pinch hits in season.
Colby Canales went 4-for-7 in 2024.
Brennan Hammer goes 4-for-17 in 2016.
Jordan Makovicka and Gabriel Thibodeaux went 4-for-10 in 2011.
Andy Masten went 4-for-9 in 2007.
