Currently sitting in sixth place in the BIG EAST and coming off back-to-back series sweeps, Creighton (18-20, 8-7 BIG EAST) hosts BIG EAST front-runner St. John's (32-12-1, 12-3 BIG EAST)Â in a three-game series this weekend at the Creighton Sports Complex.
The action is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 17. The Bluejays and Johnnies will then continue their three-game set on Friday at 12 p.m., before concluding the series on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. The Bluejays will also recognize their four seniors following Friday's contest.Â

Bluejays not Blue Jays
Creighton's mascot is the Bluejays or Bluejay, one word. Conversely the MLB Toronto team is the Blue Jays.
Scouting Creighton (18-20, 8-7 BIG EAST)
Surging at the right time, Creighton enters the weekend winners in six of their last seven contests owning a 18-20 overall record.
The Bluejays currently sit in sixth place in the BIG EAST with an 8-7 league mark and are coming off back-to-back conference sweeps of Georgetown and Butler.
Offensively, Creighton ranks second in the BIG EAST with a .303 batting average with 51 doubles, 10 triples, 34 home runs and 202 RBI, while scoring 5.74 runs per contest.Â
The Bluejays are led offensively by senior Sydra Seville, who is hitting an impressive .382 on a team-high 52 hits, including six doubles, two triples and two home runs, while driving in 20 RBI and scoring a team-best 31 runs of her own.Â
Junior Lily West is hitting .359 with 47 hits, including six double and two home runs while ranking second on the team with 31 RBI and 27 total runs scored, while sophomore Kaelan Schultz has provided a spark of power to the Bluejays lineup, owning a .355 batting average on six home runs and three doubles.
Sophomore Ashten Pierson has come alive as of late, posting a .347 batting average on 34 hits and 12 walks, while graduate student Hannah Poole hits at a .298 clip on five doubles, a triple and home run. Junior Erika Perez follows closely behind, boasting a .293 average with a team-best eight doubles and six home runs with 26 runs driven in..
Providing much of the power in the middle of the lineup has been sophomore Sydney Potter, who has driven in a team-leading 45 RBI on five doubles and a team-leading nine home runs while hitting at a .289 average.
Senior Kenzie Schopfer has emerged as the Bluejays go-to pitcher over the last few weeks as she owns a 4.74 ERA with 49 strikeouts in 82.2 innings of work. Sophomore Brooklyn Patchen has also recorded a 3.72 ERA and a team-high 67 strikeouts in 84.2 innings pitched this season.Â
Sophomore Brooke Shifflett has also been a reliable option, owning a 6-5 overall record and a 3.56 ERA with 46 punchouts in 55.0 innings of work, while freshman Abby Rusher has provided 31.2 innings of relief this spring, collecting a 5.31 ERA.Â
As a staff, the Bluejays rank second in the BIG EAST with a 4.11 ERA and 182 strikeouts while holding its opponents to 248 hits in 254.0 innings this year.Â
Creighton returns six regular starters from last season's 36-22 squad that posted the programs first 35-win season since 2010 and finished runner-up in both the BIG EAST regular-season and tournament. The Bluejays were picked to finish fourth in the BIG EAST by the league coaches in 2025.Â
Head coach Krista Wood is in her third season with the Bluejays and holds a 584-391 career record, including a 76-73 mark at Creighton.Â
Scouting St. John's (32-12-1, 12-3 BIG EAST)
St. John's enters the weekend with a 32-12-1 overall record and comfortably sits atop the BIG EAST with a 12-3 mark in league play.Â
The Johnnies are coming off their first series loss of the season at Seton Hall, where they started the weekend with a 5-4 win before dropping both games a doubleheader on Sunday.
The Johnnies have thrived in the circle this season, owning a BIG EAST-best 2.31 ERA, allowing only 117 runs in 294.1 innings pitched. The Red Storm lead the country in strikeouts with 396, recording nation-leading 9.42 strikeouts per seven innings.Â
Junior Ana Serafinko ranks third in the NCAA this season individually with 210 strikeouts, while posting a 15-6 record and a 2.57 ERA with 11 complete games in 136.1 innings pitched. Fellow junior Loreley Francia ranks first in the league, and 16th in the country with a 1.52 ERA, upholding a 16-5 record with nine complete games and 157 strikeouts in 128.2 innings of work this spring.
Offensive, the Johnnies are hitting an even .300 with 58 doubles, 33 home runs, and 217 RBI, while scoring 5.2 runs per game.Â
St. John's is led by senior London Jarrard, who paces the BIG EAST with a .423 batting average. Jarrard, a three-time BIG EAST Player of the Week recipient, ranks second in the league in hits (58), RBI (49), on-base percentage (.535) and total bases (100), while owning a BIG EAST-best 13 hit-by-pitches.Â
Classmate Jess Bianco following closely behind and ranks second in the BIG EAST with a .408 batting average at the plate, while pacing the league with 62 hits and 47 runs scored.Â
St. John's was picked to finish third in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll as head coach Michelle DePolo is in her second year at the helm of the Johnnies.
Series History Against Red Storm
Creighton and St. John's have met 30 times previously, with 28 meetings happening since the Bluejays joined the BIG EAST in 2014.Â
St. John's holds an 19-11 edge in the all-time series, despite Creighton taking two of the three meetings from the Red Storm in Queens last season, as well as a 2-1 win in the BIG EAST Tournament.Â
The Johnnies own an 11-4 record in games played in Omaha, with the Jays last win coming via a 7-5 victory in 2023. CU's only home series win against St. John's came during the 2021 season.Â

- With a start on Friday, Lily West will have earned the start in each of the first 150 games of her Bluejay career.
- Lily West enters this weekend need just three hits to become the seventh Bluejay all-time to record at least 50 hits in three separate seasons.Â
- Lily West owns 26 career doubles and is now eight shy of cracking the Creighton's career doubles top-10 list.Â
- Sydra Seville has stolen 16 bases this season and is now two stolen bases shy of tying Danai Martin (2011) and Hean Tierney (1980) for eighth and three shy of tying Heidi Geier (1996) for seventh on the single season stolen base lists.
- Sydney Potter has driven in 45 runs this season and needs just one more RBI to tie Amy Baker for third and three more RBI to tie Alexis Cantu for second on Creighton's single season RBI Top 10 List. Â

Senior Salute
Creighton will honor four student-athletes for their contributions to the Bluejays softball program following Friday's games against St. John's as they take the field at the CU Sports Complex for one of the final times.Â
In the past four years, the Bluejays have compiled 91 wins, including the Bluejays first 35-win season since 2010 and a runner-up finish in both the 2024 BIG EAST Regular Season and Tournament.
The Bluejays will recognize fifth-year graduate transfer Hannah Poole, as well as seniors Kenzie Schopfer, Elliot Smith and Sydra Seville.Â
The Senior Day ceremony will take place following Friday's contest against the Johnnies.
Driving in All The Runs
In Creighton's 19-5 run-rule victory over Butler last Sunday, sophomore Sydney Potter was responsible for driving in seven of the Bluejays 19 runs.Â
The Runnels, Iowa native blasted a pair of home runs, including a grand slam, becoming the first Bluejays with multiple two-home run games in the same season since Kiara Mills in 2019.Â
Potter's seven RBI were tied for the second-most in a single game in program history and the most in a single game since Alexis Cantu drove in a school record eight runs against Wichita State on April 6, 2012.Â
Adding in five RBI in the series opener on Friday and one RBI on Saturday, Potter led the country with 13 total RBI last week.Â

Potter Rakes
Junior first baseman Sydney Potter has been racked up the RBI all season long, pacing the Bluejays and ranking third in the BIG EAST with 45 runs batted in this season.Â
Potter's 45 RBI are the fifth-most in a single season in program history and are 13 shy of tying Renae Sinkler's school record of 58 RBI in 2010. Potter enters this weekend's series with St. John's one RBI shy of tying Amy Baker for third and three RBI shy of tying Alexis Cantu for second on Creighton's single season RBI Top 10 list.Â
Potter has recorded a team-best 11 multi-RBI games, including six such games with three or more RBI this season.Â
In total, Potter has collected 78 career RBI in 84 career games on 14 doubles and 18 home runs. In fact, 32 of her 66 career hits have been extra-base hits. In comparison, Amy Baker, the Bluejays all-time RBI leader, recorded 64 RBI in her first 84 games as a Bluejay back in 2010-11.

RBI Queens
Sophomore Sydney Potter, juniors Lily West and Erika Perez have delivered in a big way for the Bluejays this season.Â
The trio has combined for 102 of the teams 202 RBI this season, while slugging 19 doubles and 18 home runs.Â
Potter leads the team with 45 RBI with a team-high nine home runs, with West not far behind with 31 RBI of her own. Perez has driven in 26 runs of her own and currently owns a team-best eight doubles on the year as the trio has combined for 26 multi-RBI games this season.
RUNS, RUNS, RUNS!!!
Creighton scored a season-high 19 runs on 12 hits and five walks, including a pair of grand slams against Butler on Sunday, April 13.Â
The Bluejays' 19 runs scored were tied for third-most in program history and the most in a single game since CU set a program record with 24 runs scored against Toledo on Feb. 8, 2020.Â
Just two weeks ago, the Bluejays scored 18 runs on 17 hits, blasting a season-high five home runs against Connecticut on March 28. The Huskies, however, pushed in 22 runs of their own to earn the victory.Â
The 40 combined runs between the Bluejays and Huskies were the most in any Creighton game in program history, and the highest-scoring game in the country this season.

Creighton has scored 218 runs, averaging 5.74 runs per game this season, a number that surges to 120 runs and 8.00 runs per game in BIG EAST contests.Â
The Bluejays' 120 runs scored in BIG EAST play this season are already the most runs scored in league play since joining the BIG EAST in 2014.Â
Overall, the 120 runs scored are the fourth most in a single conference season in program history and the most since scoring 150 runs during the 2012 Missouri Valley Conference schedule.Â

Creighton opened BIG EAST play 2-7, but have since won six straight league games and sits in sixth in the league standing with a 8-7 record.
The Bluejays struggled early on, posting a .294 batting average with 78 hits in the first nine games of BIG EAST play.Â

Power Plays
Creighton has launched 34 home runs this year, eight more than the team compiled all of last season. Of the 34 home runs CU has hit this season, six have been grand slams.
Creighton's six grand slams are the second-most in the BIG EAST this season, trailing only Villanova's seven and are the most in a single season since at least 1999. CU's previous high was three grand slams in 2023.Â
The Bluejays have blasted two grand slams in the same game twice this season, including once last weekend in the series finale against Butler.Â
Dalton Slump BustinÂ
Junior Ella Dalton entered last weekend's series against Butler in a slump, hitting .172 (5-of-29) over her last 13 games.Â
Dalton, however, brought through going 6-for-8 (.750) with a double, home run, seven runs scored and five RBI against the Bulldogs last weekend.Â
Overall, Dalton is now hitting .267 on 24 hits, with four doubles, two home runs, 18 runs scored and 12 walks.
West Near Cycle
Junior Lily West nearly became the first Bluejay ever to hit for the cycle, finished Wednesday's midweek contest at Nebraska 3-for-4 with a single, triple and home run.Â
The standout catcher singled in the third and homered in the fifth, before capping off the game with a stand-up triple in the seventh.Â
50/50 Club
Senior Sydra Seville and junior Lily West pace the Bluejays in hits this season with 52 and 47 base hits respectfully.Â
Should West record three hits this weekend, it will mark the third straight season and the 21st time in program history that two Bluejays have recorded at least 50 hits in the same season.Â
Additionally, West will become the seventh Bluejay in program history to record at least 50 hits in three seasons and the first since Renae Sinkler in 2010.Â

West Hitting Way Into Top-10
Currently in her junior season, Lily West is continuing her climb up the Bluejay ranks in career batting average.Â
Just over halfway through her junior season, West currently ranks sixth all-time with a .338 career batting average on 165 career hits. The Choctaw, Okla. native ranks second on the team with a .359 batting average on 47 total hits this season.
The standout junior now owns 165 hits in her Bluejay career and is closing in on becoming just the seventh Bluejay all-time to record at least 50 hits in three separate seasons.
West ended her sophomore season with 118 career hits, a total that ranked second-most for a career through two seasons in program history.Â

Bring the BIG EAST Broom
Creighton completed its first BIG EAST series sweep of the season at Georgetown and followed up with a three-game series sweep of Butler last weekend, posting a pair of run-rule victories over the Bulldogs.
Last weekend's series sweep of Butler marked just the 11th series sweep for the Bluejays since joining the BIG EAST in 2014.Â
Creighton's sweep of Georgetown on April 4-6Â was its second straight series sweep of the Hoyas and the first series win in Washington, D.C. since 2017.Â

Scoring BIG
Creighton has jumped out to early leads, but that hasn't always paid dividends as the Bluejays are 13-7 when scoring first and 9-7 when scoring in the first inning this season.
CU has manufactured some big scoring innings early on in contests, outscoring its opponents 68-46 in the first and second innings this season.Â
The Bluejays have scored four or more runs in a single inning 23 times this year, including a season-high six runs in an inning on eight different occasions, including three at Georgetown and three additional times against Butler last weekend.

Bluejay Thieves
Creighton has recorded 51 stolen bases this season, a total that currently ranking fourth in the BIG EAST behind only Butler (70), St. John's (69) and UConn (53).Â
The Bluejays 51 stolen bases are the most in a single season since joining the BIG EAST in 2013 and the most since swiping 55 bags in 2011.Â
CU stole just eight total bases in their first 10 games of the season, but have been more aggressive on the base paths, collecting 43 stolen bags in the last 28 games.
By comparison, the Bluejays stole a total of 24 bases in 58 total games last season. Prior to this season the Bluejays had only recorded more than 30 stolen bases in three seasons since joining the BIG EAST in 2014.
The Jays collected a season-high seven stolen bases against UC Santa Barbara on March 2. The Bluejays seven steals were two shy of the school record and were tied for the second-most in a single game in program history and the most since also collecting seven stolen bases against Bradley on March 31, 2001.Â

Senior Sydra Seville paces the team with 16 stolen bases this year, currently sitting in a tie for 10th on Creighton's single season stolen bases list.
The New Lenox, Ill. natives 16 stolen bases are the most by a Bluejay since Aujanae McCoy swiped 16 bags in 2016. Seville is now just two stolen bases shy of tying Danai Martin (2011) and Hean Tierney (1980) for eighth and three stolen bases shy of tying Heidi Geier for seventh on the single season top 10 stolen bases list.Â
In total, Seville has collected 23 stolen bases in her career and is now nine stolen bags shy of enter the Bluejays career top-10 list.

Small-Ball Bluejays
Creighton has prided itself as building triple-threat players at the plate, perfecting the ability to lay down a bunt at any given time.Â
This season, Creighton is hitting .655 (19-of-29) with 12 sacrifices in bunting opportunities. Senior Sydra Seville is 9-of-10 (.900 BA) with two sacrifice bunts this season, while sophomore Ashten Pierson has converted 7-of-15 bunts and recorded a team-high three sacrifices.Â
Last season, the Bluejays converted 31 sacrifice bunts, led by seven from Pierson.Â
Keeping it Consistent
Part of CU's success this season can be attributed to knowing who will be starting on a game-by-game basis. Â
This season, Ashten Pierson (Shortstop), Lily West (catcher/DP), Sydra Seville (Right Field/Center field) and Sydney Potter (First base, Catcher, DP) have started all 38 game this season. Erika Perez has also started 34 of the 38 games at third base, while Ella Dalton has also earned the start in centerfield in 33 of the 37 games she has played in this season.

• Sydra Seville is hitting .458 (27-of-59) as CU's leadoff hitter and a blistering .436 (17-of-39) with runners in scoring position this season.Â
• In addition, Sydra Seville is hitting .397 (23-of-58) with runners on base and .353 (12-of-34) with two-outs.
• Lily West hits .443 (35-of-79) with runners on base and .464 (26-of-56) when those runners are in scoring position, while hitting .500 (4-of-8) with the bases loaded.
• Additionally, Lily West hits .447 (38-of-85) when batting third in the lineup, but just .209 (9-of-43) when batting first or second.
• Avery Barnard is hitting .423 (11-of-26) with runners on and has upped that to .462 (6-of-13) with runners in scoring position.Â
• Sydney Potter is hitting .352 (19-of-54) with runners in scoring position and .556 (5-of-9) with the bases loaded, while driving in 24 runs with two outs.Â
• Thirty-six of Sydney Potter's hits this season have come while she is either playing first base or when she is catching. She has only recorded one hit in 11 at-bats as CU's designated player.
Krista vs. The BIG EAST
Throughout her career, head coach Krista Wood's teams played some of their best softball against BIG EAST competition.Â
Entering her third season with the Bluejays, Wood's currently owns a 33-35 record in the BIG EAST with at least one victory over every team in the league.Â
In her eight seasons with South Dakota State, Wood's compiled a 21-5 overall record against the BIG EAST, including a 17-1 mark in her final six seasons that featured 11 straight victories.Â
In total, Wood's owns a 53-38 overall record against teams from the BIG EAST.Â

Creighton At Home
Since joining the BIG EAST in 2014, the Bluejays own a 79-71 record at the Creighton Sports Complex.Â
The Bluejays are 5-4 this season, after sweeping Butler in a three-game series last weekend. Through the first nine home games, Creighton is hitting .351 with 14 doubles, 14 home runs, 78 RBI and 81 runs scored with 13 stolen bases.
Junior Ella Dalton leads the way offensively with a .571 batting average at home, while Lily West is hitting a blistering .464 on a team-high 13 hits, including four doubles and a team-best six walks. Senior Sydra Seville owns 12 hits of her own and six stolen bases, while Sydney Potter has blasted a team-high four home runs and driven in 18 total runs on 10 hits at home this season. Â
Creighton finished 16-3 at home last season, which included victories over Rider, Northern Colorado, North Dakota, Villanova, South Dakota, Omaha and Providence, as well as BIG EAST series sweeps over Georgetown and DePaul
Last season, Creighton hit a blistering .349 at home with 37 doubles, three triples, 16 home runs and 106 RBI, while the Bluejay pitching staff owned a 2.05 ERA with 102 strikeouts, holding opponents to a .178 batting average.Â

CU Sports Complex Turns Into Launching Pad
Creighton has also produced some big hitters throughout its powerful lineup over the years and that trend has continued this season.Â
CU has blasted a total of 14 home runs this season at the Creighton Sports Complex, including five against Connecticut on March 28 and six in the Bluejays three-game series sweep of Butler last weekend. In total, there have been 29 home runs hits in nine games at the Creighton Sports Complex this spring.
Last spring CU blasted a total of 24 home runs, with 16 of those coming from within the confines of the CU Sports Complex.
Sophomore Sydney Potter leads the way with four home runs at home this season, while Kaelan Schultz has recorded three homers, and Erika Perez has added in two of her own.Â
Since joining the BIG EAST in 2014, the most home runs a Creighton team has hit during a single season at home is 25 (2018).Â

Hit Parade
Creighton's 17 hits against Connecticut on Friday marked a new season-high and were the most hits in a single game by the Bluejays since collecting 17 hits against Butler on April 20 last season.Â
The Bluejays followed that up by collecting 16 hits, all singles, in a 13-0 run-rule victory over Georgetown on Sunday.
Since joining the BIG EAST in 2014, Creighton has recorded 15 or more hits in a single game 10 times, with six of those coming under the direction of head coach Krista Wood.Â

RPI Update
The latest NCAA Softball RPI, released through games of April 14, has Creighton with the sixth-best RPI in the BIG EAST.
Creighton has an RPI of 170, with big conference opportunities against, St. John's (93) and Seton Hall (115) remaining on the schedule.Â
Creighton is 13-1 this year against teams with an RPI worse than 170, but 5-19 against teams in the top 200. The best RPI team that Creighton has beaten is No. 54 Connecticut.

Since the turn of the century, Creighton has had tremendous success when scoring five or more runs. The Bluejays have continued that success this spring, opening the season with seven straight wins when scoring at least five runs.Â
Over the last 25 seasons, Creighton is 389-58 when scoring five or more runs. In the same time span Creighton is 245-426-3 when scoring four runs or fever.
Creighton is also 173-40 when scoring five or more runs in a game since joining the BIG EAST in 2014 and own a 14-4 record this season when scoring five or more runs.Â
Last spring, the Bluejays went an impressive 23-0 record when scoring at least five runs in a game. In those 23 contests, Creighton outscored their opponents, 192-66.
During that same time frame the Bluejays are 102-5 when scoring eight or more runs, which included a perfect 15-0 record in 2024. Prior to Creighton's 22-18 loss to Connecticut on March 28, Creighton had won 29 consecutive games when scoring eight or more runs.
Additionally, Creighton had won 36 straight games when scoring 10+ runs, before March 28th setback to the Huskies.
Double Trouble
Over the last two seasons Creighton has consistently been able to snag extra-bases, and that has been the case once again this season.Â
The Bluejays currently rank fifth in the BIG EAST with 51 doubles, trailing only Seton Hall (67), UConn (66), Villanova (62) and St. John's (58). Junior Erika Perez paces the Bluejays with eight doubles, while Lily West and Sydra Seville follow closely behind with six doubles each.Â
This spring the Bluejays have recorded a season-high five doubles twice, including five in CU's season-opening win over Purdue Fort Wayne on Feb. 7.
This marks the third straight season Creighton has recorded at least 50 doubles and is now 12 doubles shy of entering the Bluejays single season top 10 list. Â
CU has recorded 77 doubles each of the last two seasons, tying for the second most in a single season and falling two shy of the school record 79 hit during the 1993 season.Â
Overall, the 154 doubles hit over the last two years are the most doubles in a two-year span in program history.Â

Bluejays Keeping it Close
Through the first 38 games of the season, Creighton has played 15 games decided by two or less runs, including 11 one-run contests.Â
Despite keeping it close, the Bluejays are just 5-10 in close games, which including a 3-8 record in one-run contests. Â
Last season, Creighton played 23 games decided by two or less runs, posting a 15-8 overall record, while recording an 11-5 record in one-run contests.Â
West & Schopfer Nabs Spot on BIG EAST Honor Roll
Junior Lily West and senior Kenzie Schopfer each claimed a spot on the weekly honor roll this week, following a sweep of Georgetown on April 4-6.
West earned a spot on the honor roll for the second consecutive week, leading Creighton to a 3-1 record last week. The standout junior hit a blistering .429 (6-of-14) with a pair of home runs and five runs scored while collecting 12 RBI and boasting a .857 slugging percentage. The Choctaw, Okla. native drove in at least three runs in all three games last weekend as the Bluejays outscored the Hoyas, 27-2.Â
Schopfer, meanwhile, led all BIG EAST pitchers last week with a 0.98 ERA, picking up a pair of shutout wins in three appearances. The Savanna, Mo. native held opponents to 12 hits and a .231 batting average while logging nine strikeouts in 14.1 innings of work.
Historic Comeback For the Ages
Creighton pulled off a comeback for the ages on Friday, March 28, scoring six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and another in the eighth to knock off the UConn, 7-6, in the series opener of a three-game set.Â
The victory matched Creighton's largest comeback in a win since 1994, having also overcome a 6-0 deficit with a nine-run seventh frame to defeat Weber State on Feb. 25, 2017 in Santa Clara, Calif.
Creighton picked up just its 39th victory since 1999 when the opposition scores six or more runs. The Jays are now 40-287 (.122) winning percentage) during the past 26 years when allowing six or more runs and 29-408-1 (.067) when trailing after six innings.Â
Pinch Me
In Creighton's six-run fifth inning in game two against Connecticut on March 28, head coach Krista Wood went to the bench and called upon Kaelan Schultz to pinch hit.Â
The sophomore slugger stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and delivered in a big way, smashing her first career grand slam.Â
In the process, Schultz became the first Bluejays to record a pinch-hit grand slam since Mikaela Pechar blasted a bases clearing home run against Villanova on May 5, 2018.Â
CU Later Ball!
Last Friday, Creighton and Connecticut combined to blast 12 home runs, including three grand slams, while combining for 40 runs.Â
Creighton homered in each of the first five innings, with those five blasts tying for the third-most home runs in a single-game in program history.
The Bluejays five home runs are the most in a single game since also hitting five homers against Kansas City on March 15, 2023.
Connecticut also launched seven home runs of their own, including four in four straight at-bats from Kaitlyn Breslin, as she tied an NCAA single-game record for home runs in a single contest.Â

West Reaches 150 Career Hit Plateau
Junior catcher Lily West reached the 150-hit plateau in the series opener against Connecticut on March 28.Â
The Choctaw, Okla. native delivered her 150th career hit in a big way, driving in the game tying runs with a two-run double in the bottom of the seventh inning of Creighton's 7-6 win over the Huskies.Â
West become the 17th Bluejay since 1999 to record 150 career hits. She has been consistent at the plate throughout her Bluejay career, hitting .338 with 165 career hits in 149 career games. Â

Junior catcher Lily West has been a fixture in the Bluejays starting lineup since stepping foot on campus in 2023 and is reaching uncharted territory as she has started in all 149 games of her Bluejay career.Â
Her 149 consecutive starts are the longest starting streak by a Bluejay since Madeline Vejvoda started the final 174 games in her Bluejay career from 2020- 2024. Â
Can't Keep Her Off Bases
Senior Sydra Seville reached base safely in 21 straight games before having her streak snapped on March 22 in three at-bats against Seattle. The 21-game on-base streak was Creighton's longest streak since Ashley Cantu also reached base safely in 21 consecutive games in 2019.Â
The New Lenox, Ill. native also had an 18-game on-base streak snapped earlier this season, a streak that dated back to last season. Since 2010, Seville is the only Bluejay to record multiple 18-game on-base streaks.
The standout senior has reached base safely in 35 of the 38 games this season and in 50 of the Bluejays last 53 games dating back to April 19, 2024.

Seville Keeps Hitting
Senior Sydra Seville had her career-best 18 -game hitting streak snapped on Feb. 8 after recording the longest hit streak by a Bluejay since at least 1999 on her first career out of the park home run in an 10-2 victory over Purdue Fort Wayne.Â
The New Lenox, Ill. native hit a blistering .517 (30-of-58) with 30 hits, nine RBI, 12 runs scored and four stolen bases over her 18-games hitting streak, dating back to the end of last season, where Seville earned Second Team All-BIG EAST honors and a spot on the BIG EAST All-Tournament Team.Â
Seville then collected at least one hit in 11 straight contests from March 1 to March 21. During her second longest career hitting streak, she hit .500 (21-of-42), with eight multi-hit games.Â
In all, Seville has recorded a hit in 31 of the 38 games this season, boasting a team-best .382 average on a team-leading 52 hits, including six doubles, two triples and two home runs.Â

Forget March Madness, senior Sydra Seville created her own madness throughout the month of March.Â
The New Lenox, Ill. native hit a blistering .439 with a team-best 29 hits. She drove in 12 runs on two doubles, two triples and a home run while scoring 13 runs of her own on a perfect 12 stolen bases.Â
Seville carried her hot bat into BIG EAST play, ranking second in the league with a .543 batting average on a league-leading 19 hits.
The star junior also recorded 11 of her team-leading 16 multi-hit games in the month of March.
Home Sweet Home
Creighton owns a 504-280-1 (.643) all-time record in home games, which includes a 370-228-1 (.620) record at home since moving into the CU Sports Complex in 1988. Thursday's series opener against St. John's will be the 600th Creighton softball game at the CU Sports Complex.Â
Earlier this season, the Bluejays secured their 500th all-time win at home with an 9-6 win over former MVC rival Drake on March 11th.
Creighton finished last season with a 16-3 record at the home. The Bluejays 16 home wins were the most wins in the CU Sports Complex since the 2008 Bluejays finished the home schedule with a 19-2 overall record.
In addition, it was just the second time this century that Creighton had recorded 16 or more home wins in a single season.

Free Softball
Creighton has played five extra-inning games this season, including four in the past three weeks at Villanova and home against Seattle and Connecticut The Bluejays, however, have not had the best of lucky this season, owning a 2-3 mark in extra-inning contests.Â
The Bluejays erased a six-run deficit in the bottom of the seventh against Connecticut on March 28, before earning the win with a run in the eighth. The Bluejays only other extra-inning win this season was a 4-3 8-inning win over Purdue Fort Wayne in the finale of the Kickin' Chicken Classic in Conway, S.C.
Sophomore Sydney Potter lifted the Bluejays to the victory over PFW, launching a two-run home run to straight away center in the bottom of the eighth inning, while Sydra Seville delivered the game-winner with an RBI single against UConn.Â
Potter's two-run walk-off blast was the Bluejays first walk-off home run since Emma Rosonke launched a three-run home run in a 9-1 run-rule victory over Abilene Christian on Feb. 13, 2022.Â
Last season the Bluejays played seven extra-inning games, recording a 6-1 record. Overall, Creighton is 95-97-2 all-time in extra innings games, including a 19-15 mark since joining the BIG EAST in 2014.
Amongst the Bluejays extra-inning games is Creighton's NCAA record 31-inning contests against Utah on May 11, 1991, as well as the third longest game in NCAA History in the 25-inning affair against Utah just 21-minutes later on May 12, 1991.
Welcome Back Kaelan Schultz
Sophomore Kaelan Schultz returned to the diamond for the first time in 378 days, earning the start in the Bluejays BIG EAST opener at Providence on March 7.
Schultz torn her ACL sliding into home during a contest against Nevada on Feb. 23 last year, missing the rest of the 2024 season.Â
In her return to the field Schultz delivered in a big way at the plate, launching two home runs in the series finale against Providence on March 9.Â
Schultz became the first Bluejay to with two home runs in a game since Cayla Nielsen homered twice against UConn on April 23, 2023, while also becoming the first Bluejay to hit home runs in back-to-back at bats since Alyssa Gappa did so against New Mexico State on Feb. 24, 2023.Â
