
Women’s Tennis Trio Earns CSC Academic All-District Recognition

OMAHA, Neb. – Creighton women's tennis senior Bianca Rademacher and Valerie Negin, as well as junior Ana Paula Martinez each earned a spot on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team on Tuesday, May 13.
This year marks the third CSC Academic All-District honor for Negin and the second of Rademacher's career, while Martinez is receiving recognition on the Academic All-District Team for the first time.
The Bluejays' three honorees are tied for the second-most by the Creighton women's tennis team in a single season, while Rademacher advanced and will be listed on the CSC Academic All-America Ballot. Academic All-America honorees will be announced in late May.
The teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members.
Rademacher wrapped up her three-year career at Creighton, graduating with a 3.88 cumulative GPA in English in 2024 and posting a 3.93 graduate GPA, while studying public health. A five-time member of the Creighton honor roll, Rademacher has also earned an ITA Scholar-Athlete award and was named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team each of the last two years.
On the court, Rademacher closed out the 2025 season by earning First Team All-BIG EAST honors. Playing at the No. 1 singles spot, Rademacher posted 18 total singles wins, including 12 such wins via straight sets, while battling through injuries. In addition, Rademacher combined for 18 doubles win this season, including a team-high 10 victories at the top doubles position with Negin. Her 18 singles wins this season ranked tied for the seventh-most in a single season in program history, while 18 combined doubles wins were the third-most in a season by a Bluejay in school history.
Overall, Rademacher went a combined 36-8 (.818) this year, recording the Bluejays highest winning percentage in a single season in program history.
Earning her third CSC Academic All-District honor, Negin boasts a 3.76 GPA while majoring in Marketing with a minor in Pre-Health. Negin, a Centennial, Colo. native, is a three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete and BIG EAST All-Academic Team honoree, as well as a seven-time member of the Creighton Honor Roll.
On the court, Negin combined for 16 total wins this spring, combining with Rademacher for 10 wins at the top double spot, while recording six singles win primarily at the No. 2 singles position. Overall, Negin finished her collegiate career at Creighton with 125 career wins, ranking tied for fifth on Creighton's all-time career wins list. Among her 125 career wins, Negin ranked tied for second all-time with 65 career doubles wins and is tied for 10th with 60 career singles wins.
Claiming her first CSC Academic All-District honor, Martinez owns a 3.58 GPA in biochemistry with minors in studio art and biology. A two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete and BIG EAST All-Academic Team recipient, Martinez was also a force on the court for the Bluejays. The Queretaro, Mexico native, racked up a combined 24 victories, including 12 wins at the No. 3 singles position. In addition, Martinez also combined with Olivia Minikle and Philippa Roy for 12 victories across the No. 2 and No. 3 double spots.

- Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
- Student-athletes must be enrolled at their institution at the time of nomination either as undergraduates or graduate students. Only the school at which an athlete competed in the current academic year can nominate that player.
- Student-athletes who have graduated from their own institution during the current academic year and are not competing in athletics at another institution at the time of nomination are eligible.
- An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).
- A graduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as both an undergraduate and a grad student unless they are in their first semester as a graduate student and don't have an established graduate GPA.
- The cumulative grade point average may not be rounded up to 3.50.

- M/W Tennis: Eligible nominees need to be in the lineup for 70% of the total matches played by the team that includes team scores.
