Bluejay Baseball Kicks of 2026 Season with First Official Practice

Omaha, Neb. -- The regular season and BIG EAST Tournament defending champion, Creighton Baseball opened the 2026 with its first official practice on Monday, January 12th.Â
The Bluejays return All-BIG EAST catcher Connor Capece, BIG EAST Freshman of the Year Wilson Magers, shortstop Ben North as well as rotation arms Ian Koosman as well as Jimmy Burke. Other returning field players include outfielder Teddy Deters as well as catcher/Designated Hitter Nate McHugh.Â
Despite the strong core, the Bluejays were selected to finish second in the BIG EAST preseason poll.
Creighton opens the 2026 season with consecutive weekends in Calfornia as the Bluejays face the Saint Mary's Gaels (Feb. 13-15) and play in the Tony Gwynn Tournament (Feb. 20-22).
