Teddy Deters Earns BIG EAST Player of the Week

Omaha, Neb. -- Creighton graduate student Teddy Deters collected the first BIG EAST Player of the Week as he led Creighton to a series road win at Saint Mary's last weekend with a .364 average. Deters delivered a pair of home runs, had at least one hit and one walk in each game, posting a .909 slugging percentage and a .500 on-base percentage over the three-game series. Defensively the Bluejay outfielder contributed an outfield assist to help the Bluejays secure the 9-8 win in the series finale.
Deters and the rest of the Bluejay squad return to California to participate in the Tony Gwynn tournament this weekend as the Bluejays will face UC San Diego on Friday, University of San Diego on Saturday and Utah on Sunday.Â

BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week
Mason Christopher, Seton Hall, So., LHPÂ (Middletown, N.J.)
Christopher was dynamite in relief for the Pirates on Saturday in the win over Manhattan at the 2026 Puerto Rico Challenge. The lefty earned the win by working five innings out of the bullpen and striking out 10 batters. Overall he allowed four hits and allowed just one run in the outing.
Honor Roll
Gavin Gilmore, Butler, Jr., OF
Gilmore was sensational in a 1-2 weekend hitting .571 on eight hits, with a home run, four RBI and two walks.
Cayden Suchy, UConn, So., LHP
Suchy struck out nine batters in six innings of work, allowing two runs against Kansas State.
Spencer Seid, Georgetown, Gr., LHP
Seid struck out six batters in five scoreless innings of an 8-3 win over Winthrop.
Colin Quintano, Villanova, Sr., UTIL
Quintano had two home runs in a pair of games against FIU with two runs and three RBI.Â
Josh Stonehouse, Xavier, Fr., OF
Stonehouse batted .500 on the week with six hits and five runs scored in series win over East Caroline
