The Bluejays improved to 17-18 on the year with the win, while the Redhawks dropped to 14-18 overall.
Perez led the Bluejays offense with three hits, including a school-record tying three doubles, while West and Barnard each collected two hits and a pair of RBI in the win. Junior Brooklyn Patchen earned her fourth win of the season, striking out four in 3.0 innings of work, while sophomore Landrie Harris picked up her first save of the season.
Similar to Thursday's affair, Seattle struck first with four runs in the top of the second inning to grab an early advantage. Jay Ross opened the frame with an infield single and scored two pitches later as Karen Spadafora blasted a two-run home run to right to put the Redhawks on the scoreboard. Seattle would load the bases with a walk, single and fielder's choice before an RBI single from Avari Morris and a sacrifice fly from Taylor Fitch put the Redhawks up 4-0.
Creighton responded with six runs on three hits, three walks and a pair of hit batters in the bottom half of the frame to surge out in front 6-4. Junior Kaelan Schultz laced a leadoff single down the right field line to open the inning and pinch runner Emma Bailey stole second and third before coming in to score on an RBI double from Perez to put the Jays on the scoreboard. Ella Dalton was then hit by a pitch to load the bases for Ashten Pierson, who was hit by a pitch herself to cut the deficit to 4-2. Freshman Zoey Greenwood followed with an RBI bases loaded walk to make the score 4-3, before an RBI fielder's choice from Barnard leveled the contest at 4-4. West would then answer the call with a two-run double into the left centerfield gap to give the Jays a 6-4 lead.
Creighton's lead grew to 11-4 over the next three innings as freshman Keegan Mayhue launched her team-leading seventh home run of the season out to left center in the third and Vandewater delivered a two-run double into the right centerfield gap to give the Jays a 9-4 lead in the fourth. Pierson then scored on a throwing error and Barnard laced an RBI single to right in the fifth to extend the Jays advantage out to 11-4.
Seattle, however, answered with three runs in the top of the sixth on a pair of RBI doubles from Morris and Ava Sin to cut the Bluejay lead to 11-7. Mikee Morris would follow with a two-out solo homer in the top of the seventh to make it 11-8, before Harris closed out the victory with her second strikeout of the contest.
Seattle was paced by three hits apiece from Ross and Avari Morris, while Morris suffered the loss allowing six runs on three hits in 1.2 innings of work.
Creighton and Seattle close out their three-game set on Saturday, March 28 at 9:30 a.m.
