
Softball Trio Sweeps Weekly BIG EAST Honors

Lily West, Brooklyn Patchen and Zoey Greenwood are recognized
OMAHA, Neb. – Creighton Softball's Lily West, Brooklyn Patchen and Zoey Greenwood have all been honored by the BIG EAST Conference after guided the Bluejays to a sweep of Seton Hall this past weekend. West was named Player of the Week, Patchen was tabbed BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week and Greenwood earned Freshman of the Week acclaim.
West, a Choctaw, Okla. native, hit a blistering .714 (10-of-14) and recorded a 1.143 slugging percentage while collecting three doubles, a home run, seven RBI and six runs scored as Creighton opened BIG EAST play 3-0 last week. The standout senior led the Bluejays in Friday's BIG EAST opener going 5-for-6 with a double, two RBI and three runs scored while becoming the 11th Bluejay in program history to record 200 career hits and just the 13th player ever to record 100 career RBI in the victory.
West then went a perfect 4-for-4 in game two, collected a career-high tying two doubles, a home run, two runs scored and a career-high tying five RBI, while falling a triple shy of the cycle in the Jays' 15-3 run-rule victory. She then ended the weekend by going 1-for-4 and driving in the game winning run, reaching on an error in the seventh inning as the Bluejays held on for a 9-7 win. This is the senior's third career BIG EAST Player of the week award as she also claimed the honor in April of 2024 and February of 2025.
Patchen was dominant in the circle this past week, recording a 1.91 ERA and a 1-0 record, while striking out three and limiting her opponents to just nine hits in 7.1 innings of work. She got things going early, claiming her third win of the season after allowing just two earned runs on seven hits with three strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work on Friday, before allowing just two hits and two unearned runs in the series finale on Sunday. This marks the Whitehouse, Ohio native's first BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week award of her career.
Greenwood had a pair of multi-hit games as she hit .462 with two doubles, a triple, five RBI and seven runs scored in a series sweep over Seton Hall last week. The freshman standout opened the weekend in fine fashion, going 3-for-5 with a double, a walk and three runs scored in the Jays' 20-10 slugfest win on Friday. Greenwood followed it up by going 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and a career-high four runs scored and five RBI in the Bluejays 15-3 run-rule victory on Saturday. This marks the first BIG EAST weekly honor of Greenwood's career as she joins Keegan Mayhue as the second Bluejay to earn BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors this season.
