STORRS, Conn. – The Creighton softball team dropped the series finale to UConn, 4-2, on Sunday, April 26 at Burrill Family Field in Storrs, Conn.

UConn broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the second as Haley Coupal and Kaitlyn Kibling drew a pair of walks before an RBI double down the left field line from Caylee De Meo put the Huskies on the board 1-0.
Creighton answered in the top of the third when senior Lily West snuck her fourth home run of the season just inside the left field foul pole to level the contest at 1-1.

Freshman Chiqui Vazquez then drove in her first run as a Bluejays with the bases loaded walk to knot things up at 2-2.
UConn, however, pushed across two in the bottom of the sixth inning on a bases loaded two-out, two-run single from Heidi Barber to retake a 4-2 advantage.
Down to their final three outs, Creighton got a single to left from junior Ashten Pierson but was unable to deliver a hit as UConn secured the 4-2 victory.
Sophomore Landrie Harris suffered the loss (4-5) allowing four runs on four hits and six walks in the complete-game effort, while West led the way offensively with a home run and a walk. UConn reliever Jessica Walter earned the win (5-8), tossing 3.0 scoreless innings of three hit ball.
