Stan Croft is in his first year at Creighton University and he joins the cross country program with a highly- decorated background. Croft was the head coach at Iowa Western Community College for both the cross country and track and field programs. During his tenure at Iowa Western, Croft help steer the program to its first-ever appearance at nationals.

Before Iowa Western, Croft was the assistant track and field coach at Utah State from 1999-2006. While there, Croft was instrumental in helping the university become Men’s Big West Conference champions in 2002 and 2003, Big West champions in men’s 4x100 and 200, and Women’s Conference champions in 100 meters, 200 meters and 400 meters.

As a coach Croft has developed many attributes for helping his student-athletes make the transition from high school to college athletics. He knows the demands that are asked of collegiate athletes and he has the strength and vision to help motivate, supervise academic progress, develop a winning mentality in his student athletes and help the athletes gain self-confidence and self-respect. Some of his career goals include being an integral part of the development of student-athletes and help provide opportunities to his athletes to develop into responsible individuals.
