Eadus Homers Again in Softball Win Over Alabama A&M

CONWAY, Ark. - TJ Eadus connected for her fourth home run in four games and the Creighton softball team came-from-behind to defeat Alabama A&M 13-5 in a five-inning game to start the day at the Central Arkansas Spring Clash Sunday afternoon. The Bluejays fell behind 2-0 after the top of the first inning, but scored three runs in the bottom of the inning and four more en route to their second run-ruling of the Bulldogs on the weekend.
Creighton's (4-0) three-run first inning was highlight by a double steal involving a pair of Bluejay rookies. Michelle Graner stole home as Kaycee Points swiped second to end scoring in the three-run first inning.
Four more Bluejay runs crossed the plate in the second inning, capped by a two-run double off the bat of Eadus. Jessica Wakasugi scored on a wild pitch and Eadus crushed a solo homer for two runs in the fourth inning. A four-run bottom of the fifth-inning ended the game due to the run-rule.
Alabama A&M (0-6) tossed two wild pitches, allowing a run to score each time, and committed four errors in the sloppy game. CU also had two wild pitches and two errors.
Cassidy Nee made her first appearance of the season in the circle for CU, but lasted just one out in the first inning. She allowed two runs on two hits, walked two, had two wild pitches and struck out one. Laura Fonda pitched the final 4.2 innings for her first win of the season. She allowed only three hits, two earned runs, walked two and struck out one.
Eadus finished the game 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored. Jessica German was the only other Jay with multiple hits, going 2-for-3. Wakasugi scored three runs, while Jamie Reiss had a pair of RBI and went 1-for-3 with a run scored. Bailey Dawson went 1-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.
