CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Laura Kratochvil went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBI as the Creighton softball team defeated North Texas 5-1 on Saturday at the Corpus Christi Invitational. The Bluejays got on the board in the top of the first inning on a pair of RBI singles. After going hitless in Creighton's first two games, Renae Sinkler and Bailey Dawson collected back-to-back RBI singles to kick-start the Bluejay offense on Saturday morning.
Creighton plated three more runs in the fifth inning. Sinkler reached on a one-out walk and Dawson followed with a single to put two runners on for Kratochvil. The senior catcher ripped a two-run double to give the Jays a 4-0 lead. Michelle Koch followed with an RBI single and the Jays were up 5-0 after five innings.

The Mean Green (2-1) scored an unearned run in the bottom of the seventh inning to deny Oltman's shutout bid. The junior hurler struck out five and walked none to improve to 1-1 on the season.
