OMAHA, Neb. - The Creighton women's tennis team lost twice on the road this weekend, falling 5-2 to Evansville and 7-0 to Southern Illinois.
Kelsey Schmidt had a strong day for the Jays against Evansville, as she defeated Pin Sorenson in singles 7-6 (4), 7-6 (3), and teamed with Lauren Mastro to defeat Allie Cox and Stephanie Mills, 8-6 in doubles.
Mary Pat McMullan had the other win on the day for the Bluejays, defeating Cox 6-3, 6-4.
Things did not go well against Southern Illinois however, as the Salukis swept all nine matches. McMullan had the best match of the day forcing a third set tiebreaker against Jessica Flannery before falling 4-6, 6-3 (10-7).
CU will wrap up its regular season next weekend, as it plays the first of three on the weekend Friday against Nebraska Wesleyan in Lincoln.
