
Men's Golf Finishes 14th at Rain-Shortened Bill Ross Intercollegiate

Monday's first-day action was cut from a scheduled 36 holes to 18 because of heavy rain in the Kansas City area.
Wichita State placed first as a team with 599 (295+304). Denver (306+301) and Kansas State (303+304) tied for second with 607 at the Milburn Country Club in Overland Park, Kan.
Pep Angles from Central Arkansas took home medalist honors with a 141 (71+70). Day one co-leader, Wichita State's Louis Cohen Boyer, placed second with 145 (69+76), Nate Davis of Western Illinois placed third, carding a 147 (74+73), and Wichita State's Grant Bennett (73+75) and Kansas State's Connor Knabe (69+79) finished in a tie for fourth with 148.
Following his medalist honors at the USD Coyote Classic, senior Johnny Spellerberg shot a 155 (80+75) and tied for 30th to lead the Jays.
Freshman Jonah Buss finished one stroke behind Spellerberg with a 156 (74+82), and tied for 34th. Buss was tied for sixth after day one, five behind the leader.
Freshman Charlie Bolton (82+81), sophomore Kade Brown (80+83) and sophomore Andrew Holloway (76+87) each finished with 163 to tie for 67th.
Creighton's next event is the Wendy's Kiawah Classic Nov. 2-4 at the Turtle Point Golf Course in Kiawah Island, S.C.
