Women's Soccer Closes Out 2015
Omaha, Neb. - The Creighton women's soccer team will wrap up the 2015 season this Friday at Georgetown at 1:30 pm.
Creighton at Georgetown
Friday, Oct. 30@ 1:30 pm
Series History: Georgetown leads 2-0
Creighton and Georgetown have met twice previously, both as BIG EAST foes. The Hoyas own victories in both matchups, posting a 4-0 win in 2013 and a 1-0 win last season. Prior to Friday's contest the Hoyas will honor their graduating senior class. Â
With Just One Match Left, Little is Set for the BIG EAST Championship:
With three matches remaining at the onset of last week, DePaul seemed poised to defend its regular season championship. Two matches later the Blue Demons could be traveling for the quarterfinal matchup.
Thursday brought significant clarity as the field went from one guarenteed participant, DePaul, to a full boat of six teams. Sunday, however, did not lend such decisiveness. St. John's win over Villanova pushed the Red Storm into sole possesion of first place with 19 points. Georgetown and DePaul played to a 1-1 tie, leaving both squads with 17. Marquette stayed within striking distance via a win over Butler to move to 16 points. Any of those four can earn a bye into the BIG EAST Championship in Omaha next weekend by finishing first or second.
Butler and Providence round out the field as Providence moved into a tie for fifth at 15 points with a win over Seton Hall.
In the final match of the season Georgetown hosts the Bluejays, DePaul welcomes Marquette, Butler faces Xavier, Providence hosts St. John's and Seton Hall battles Villanova.

Scouting Creighton (10-9-0, 2-6-0 BIG EAST)
Officially eliminated from the postseason, the Bluejays can play spoiler on Friday. A Creighton win or tie would significantly reduce Georgtown's chances of earning a bye into the BIG EAST Championship.
In addition the Bluejays enter the match at 10-9-0, a win or a tie would clinch a winning season in head coach Ross Paule's first year at the helm.
Offensively the Bluejays are led by junior Lauren Sullivan. The Kansas City native leads Creighton with 10 goals this season. One step back is junior Ylenia Sachau with six goals.
On the defensive side freshman Erin Scott has started every match in net. Scott has six shutouts on the season and boasts a 1.61 goals against
average (GAA). Â

Since that win, however, Georgetown is just 2-1-2.
Sophomore Rachel Corboz leads a potent offense with nine goals and eight assists (26 points). Four other Hoyas have at least 10 points, including 17 from junior Grace Damaska (seven goals and three assists).
In the net Emma Newins, a graduate student, has stated 16 of the Hoyas 17 contests. Newins is 9-5-2 on the season, allowing 21 goals for a 1.26 GAA.
