The Bluejays fell to 11-9 this season after finishing the weekend at 1-2.
Wichita State jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with a pair of unearned runs during the top of the first inning.
Ashley Cantu started the home half of the opening frame with a lead-off double down the left-field line. Sam Crowley reached first base after being hit by the pitch, and Kelli Finan walked on four straight pitches to load the bases with no outs. Hope Moreno drove in her 18th run of the season with a sacrifice fly to right field as Cantu crossed home plate for her team-leading 18th run of the season. Jordyn Sturgeon walked to reload the bases, but consecutive fielder's choice ground outs ended the inning with Wichita State leading 2-1.
The Shockers added to their lead with three runs during the third off of a single and two doubles.
Creighton did not have a base runner during the second or third innings before Jayci McGill walked with two outs during the bottom of the fourth. Pinch-hitter Mikaela Pechar hit a ball sharply towards the middle of the infield but the Wichita State shortstop snagged the ball on a line for the third out of the inning.
Neither team manufactured a base runner during the fifth frame before Wichita State scored twice during the sixth with a sacrifice fly and single.
Finan walked to lead off the bottom of the sixth inning but the Bluejays did score.
The Shockers pushed the final margin of victory to eight with consecutive solo home runs to open the top of the seventh.
McGill led off the bottom half of the final inning with Creighton's first hit since the first inning, and Nikki McNeil sent a low line drive towards first base during her pinch-hit plate appearance but Wichita State's first baseman recorded an unassisted double play by catching the ball and stepping on first base.
The Bluejays are back in action on Tuesday night as Creighton travels to Lincoln, Nebraska to face in-state rival Nebraska. First pitch at Bowlin Stadium is scheduled for 6 p.m.
