The Bluejays and Coyotes will work on a date to reschedule

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton softball team's matchup against South Dakota, scheduled for Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Vermillion, South Dakota, has been postponed. The Bluejays and Coyotes are seeking a future date to reschedule the contest.

Creighton is back in action this weekend for a BIG EAST home series against St. John's. The Bluejays and Red Storm will play a doubleheader on Saturday at noon at the Creighton Sports Complex before playing a single game on Sunday at 11 a.m.

Head coach Brent Vigness and the Bluejays enter the weekend with a 1-5 record during league games (11-14 overall), while St. John's is 4-1 in conference play (15-15 overall). Creighton captured an 8-1 victory against the Red Storm during the semifinals of the 2018 BIG EAST Softball Championship, but the two teams did not play during last year's regular season as a three-game series scheduled to be played in New York was canceled because of unplayable field conditions and snow.
