
Women's Tennis Drops Neutral Site Contest Against Air Force, 5-2

Bluejays won one doubles and two singles matches
The Bluejays moved their season record to 2-2, while the Falcons improved to 4-1.
Air Force opened the dual with a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles before Meredith Benson and Erin Epperson combined for a 6-3 victory in the No. 3 position to even the action. At the top position, the Falcons escaped with a 6-4 win to secure the first point of the match.
Emma Gener and Epperson each claimed singles victories for the Bluejays. Gener earned a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 2 to improve to 3-0 during the start of her freshman season, while Epperson won 7-5, 7-5 at the No. 4 slot.
"The girls fought hard today against a strong Air Force team, but we fell just short," head coach Tom Lilly said. "The doubles came down to a couple of points that didn't go our way. We will regroup and play another very good team tomorrow and see how things shake out. We will continue to get better every day."
Creighton is back in action in Lincoln on Saturday afternoon for a match against Nebraska. The Bluejays and Cornhuskers are scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m. at the DilIon Tennis Center.
