Men's Tennis Plays Four Tiebreakers And Pair Of Three-Set Matches But Falls 6-1 to DePaul

Nick Campbell won a tiebreaker in the opening set at No. 1 singles before winning in straight sets
Creighton moved its season record to 1-4, while DePaul improved to 3-5.
The Bluejays and Blue Demons played four different sets that required a tiebreaker and two singles matches that went three sets.
Creighton recorded one win during doubles play. Stratton Brown and Joe Hoff claimed a 6-2 victory during the No. 2 doubles match just moments before DePaul sealed the first point of the day with a 6-4 win at the top position. The Blue Demons also won 6-2 at the No. 3 slot.
Nick Campbell earned Creighton's lone point of the day with a straight-sets win at the top singles position. The sophomore earned a 7-4 win in a tiebreaker during the first set before claiming a 6-3 win in the second frame.
Brown and Jose Oscar Diaz also won first sets in singles action. Brown won 7-2 in a tiebreaker during No. 2 match, while Diaz tallied a 6-0 win at No. 5. Brown and Diaz each fell 6-4 in both the second and third frames at their respective slots.
Mac Mease and Daniel Lopez-Rey each fell in close contests. Mease lost by a narrow 8-6 margin in a tiebreaker during his first set at No. 4 and lost 7-5 in the second. Lopez-Rey dropped a 7-5 opening frame and lost in a tiebreaker (7-1) in the second.
"This was a another tough loss in a close match to a good team," head coach Tom Lilly said. "We are playing hard and putting ourselves in position, but DePaul outplayed us today. We will regroup and play hard again tomorrow against another tough team."
The Bluejays host the Kansas City Roos on Saturday afternoon at the Hanscom Tennis Center.
