Women's Tennis Comes From Behind To Defeat Nebraska-Omaha, 4-3

The Bluejays improved to 6-4 with the victory, while the Mavericks fell to 7-3.
Creighton lost the doubles point, but responded with four singles victories, including a pair of three-set wins to clinch the dual.
Sarah Wilcox tied the overall match at 3-3 with a three-set victory at the No. 3 singles position. Wilcox won the first set, 6-4, before falling 6-2 in the second frame. The Bluejay sophomore outlasted her opponent, 6-3 in the deciding set.
Freshman Kate Krueger clinched the dual with a three-set win at the top slot. Krueger also won her first frame, 6-4, but dropped the second, 6-4. The Omaha native did not lose a game during the final set to clinch the team victory for the Bluejays.
Meredith Benson (No. 6) and Emma Gener (No. 2) each won in straight-sets. Benson tied the dual at 1-1 after Creighton lost the doubles point, and Gener tied the match at 2-2 after the Mavericks took the No. 5 singles match. Gener also improved to 6-1 this season.
Nebraska-Omaha took the No. 4 singles match before Wilcox and Krueger each completed three-set victories.
Krueger and Wilcox combined for a 6-2 win at the No. 1 doubles position but the Mavericks took the No. 3 match and won in a tiebreaker at the No. 2 slot to take the first point of the night.
"This was a great college match as we expected," head coach Tom Lilly said. "We had a great crowd and both teams competed very well. We were fortunate to win against a strong UNO team and hope to get some rest for another match tomorrow."
Creighton returns to the courts on Saturday afternoon for a match against Northern Colorado at 3 p.m. at the Hanscom Tennis Center.
