Men's Soccer Falls At Caniglia Field To UNO, 3-0

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton men's soccer team fell to Nebraska-Omaha, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon at Caniglia Field.
The Bluejays dropped its season record to 1-1, while the Mavericks improved to 1-1.
UNO scored all three of its goals during the first half of action. The Mavericks scored during the sixth, eighth and 22nd minutes. Ed Port converted the first goal, while Hugo Kametini recorded a brace by scoring the second and third tallies.
Creighton flipped the field following halftime and held a 6-3 advantage in shots during the second half but did not put any on frame.
Charles Auguste, Callum Watson and Steevie Lamarre each paced the Bluejays with two shots as Creighton ended the match with an 11-10 edge in shots. UNO ended the day with a 5-3 edge in shots on goal.
The Bluejays also had seven corner kicks, while the Mavericks had five.
Bluejay captain and goalkeeper Paul Kruse made his first start of the season and recorded a pair of saves.
Creighton returns to the pitch on March 6 for its home opener as the Bluejays are scheduled to host Xavier at 11 a.m. at Morrison Stadium.
