Men's Tennis Earns 7-0 Sweep of Kansas Wesleyan

All six Bluejays picked up straight-set victory in singles.
OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton men's tennis team captured a 7-0 sweep of Kansas Wesleyan on Friday night at the Genesis Health Club in Salina, Kansas.
Creighton improves to 2-4 on the year with the win, while the Coyotes fall to 0-1.
Shin Inoue and Zack Maline paired up for a 6-0 win at the No. 3 doubles position, while Casey Ross and Matthew Lanahan claimed a 6-2 triumph at the top slot to give the Bluejays the first point of the night. Jose Diaz and Stratton Brown also teamed up to claim a 6-2 victory at the No. 2 doubles position.
Creighton controlled singles action as all six single slots posted straight-set wins.
Ross started the winning ways with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at the top slots, pushing the Bluejays out to a 2-0 lead. Brown earned a 6-1, 6-2 win at the No. 2 singles position, while Inoue clinched the match for Creighton with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at the No. 3 position.
Lanahan dropped only four games, all in the first set, for a 6-4, 6-0 triumph at the No. 4 singles. Ethan Neil won in straight-sets at the No. 6 slots, 6-0, 6-2, for his second win of the year, while Jose Oscar Diaz rounded out the win for the Bluejays with a 6-0, 6-1 win at the No. 5 singles position.
"It was good for the guys to bounce back for the second match of the day," said graduate assistant coach Armando Gandini. "Our guys brought the intensity and were focus on every count."
Creighton returns to the courts next week for a match on Friday against Illinois Chicago. First serve between the Bluejays and the Flames is scheduled for 12 p.m.
