Meggs and Roden Recognized by D1 Baseball

Omaha, Neb. -- Creighton infielders Alan Roden and Andrew Meggs have each been recognized by D1 Baseball as a member of the Top-50 players at their respective positions.
Despite moving to the position this fall, Roden was ranked as the 8th rated first baseman in the NCAA. Meggs, meanwhile, was rated as the 33rd second baseman.
The 2021 BIG EAST Freshman of the Year, Roden closed 2021 hitting .378 with nine home runs, 17 doubles and 47 RBI in 39 games. Creighton's DH early in the season, the Wisconsin native moved into the outfield for latter portion of 2021. Roden was almost unstoppable in conference play, hitting .421 with nine doubles, five home runs and 26 RBI in 21 games. He delivered a .737 slugging percentage and a .516 on-base percentage against the BIG EAST.
Meggs entered the 2021 season in a positional battle at second base. After five multi-hit games in the opening seven games, Meggs solidified his starting spot and role atop the lineup. Andrew closed the 2021 season by earning an All-BIG EAST Second Team selection. Meggs hit .309 in 39 games, makings 37 starts. He delivered 46 hits, 35 runs scored and was one of the most dependable defenders in the NCAA, making just three errors.
The Bluejays open the 2022 season in the Pacific Northwest as Creighton begins a four-game series at Portland on Friday, February 18.
