Baseball Delivers 15-4 Win Over UT-Martin

The game was stopped after eight innings due to a 10-run rule. Sunday's victory pushed the Bluejays to 6-6 on the season, while the Skyhawks fell to 5-8.
The Bluejays took an early 1-0 lead in the second on a solo home run from freshman Brant Voth. Creighton pushed that lead to 8-0 in the fifth, getting a
two-run single from sophomore Alan Roden, an RBI single by Jared Wegner and a grand slam off the bat of senior Chris Esposito.
UT-Martin got on the board with a two-run home run from Casey Harford in the bottom of the fifth.
Creighton added a pair of runs in the sixth, scoring via a wild pitch and an RBI single from Roden. The Bluejays tacked on three more runs in the seventh on an RBI double from freshman Nolan Sailors, an error and an RBI double by junior Jack Grace.
The final two runs for the Bluejays came in the eighth on a sac fly from freshman Hogan Helligso and an RBI walk by freshman Carter Tibbits.
Creighton starter Dominic Cancellieri earned the win (1-1), holding the Skyhawks to two runs on four hits and two walks in five innings.
UT-Martin starter Seth Petry took the loss (0-3), allowing seven runs on 10 hits and three walks in 4.1 innings.
Roden led the Bluejays offense, going 5-for-5 with three RBI, while Esposito closed the game 3-for-5 with four RBI.
Creighton returns home for a three-game series with Minnesota scheduled to begin on Friday, March 18 at 6:30 pm.
