Men's Golf Announces Trio of Signees

Bluejays add Gavin Gerch, Henry Kuehne and Carson Wright
OMAHA, Neb. –Creighton men's golf coach Wes Bernt has signed three golfers to a letter-of-intent. Gavin Gerch (Lincoln, Neb.), Henry Kuehne (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) and Carson Wright (Wichita, Kan.) will join the program next fall with four years of eligibility.
Gavin Gerch, Lincoln, Neb. (Lincoln Southeast High School)
- Averaged 73.87 as a junior in the spring of 2023.
- Finished in a tie for third in the Class A State Tournament after rounds of 69 and 73.
- Medalist at the Heartland Athletic Conference Tournament after shooting a 69 in the spring of 2023.
- Has helped Lincoln Southeast to back-to-back Heartland Athletic Conference titles.
- Named to Nebraska Coaches Association Boys' Golf Super-State Team in 2023.
- Summer tournament play included a seventh-place finish at the Nebraska Junior Amateur (71-71-76), a tie for 39th at the Nebraska Men's Amateur (77-75-77-73), qualifying for Nebraska Junior Match Play Tournament, and shooting a 4-under 140 in two rounds at a Jr. PGA Championship qualifier.
- Father, Andy, played baseball at the University of Nebraska.
Henry Kuehne, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. (Palm Beach Gardens High School)
- Class 5A Texas Match Play champion.
- Won the 2022 All-American Tour at Sherrill Park following loops of 74 and 69.
- Won the 2022 Hurricane Junior Golf Tour PGA National Junior Open in a playoff.
- Medalist of the 2022 Medalist Tour: Metro 437 after shooting a 72.
- Also won the 2022 NTPGA Junior Tour at Twin Creeks Golf Course after firing a 2-under 70, as well as an event at Keeton Park with a 72.
- Son of 1998 US Amateur champion Hank Kuehne, who posted eight Top-10 finished while playing in 133 events on the PGA Tour.
Carson Wright – Wichita, Kan. (Goddard Eisenhower High School)
- Named Second Team All-State in 2023 by the Kansas Golf Coaches Association.
- Selected Second Team All-Metro by the Wichita Eagle in 2023.
- In 2023, finished fourth at the Kansas Junior Match Play, fifth at the Kansas Junior Amateur and sixth at the Kansas City Junior Am.
- Also plays soccer, football and basketball in high school and set his middle school's 8th grade record with a 5:28 split.
- Owns a 3.7 GPA.
- Cousin of current Bluejay golfer Jake Kluver.
