Baseball Faces San Francisco in Three-Game Series this Weekend

Omaha, Neb. -- In the first three meetings between the programs, Creighton hosts San Francisco in a three-game series this weekend at Charles Schwab Field Omaha.

Scouting the Bluejays

The Bluejays enters the weekend hitting .335 as a team, ranking in the top 25 in hitting (12th), doubles (9th), on-base percentage (9th), scoring (13th) and slugging percentage (18th).
Individually Matt Scherrman leads the team with an average of .438, while Ben North and Tate Gillen boast averages of .385 and .370 respectively.

The Jackrabbits are hitting .282 as a team, led by five regulars over .300. South Dakota State's top three hitters are Cael Frost (.386), Reece Anderson (.375) and Jess Bellows (.365).

Brought into a bases loaded no out situation in the top of the eighth, grad transfer Parker Primeaux held Creighton's lead against Omaha for his first save as a Bluejay. The sidewinder allowed three runs to cross due in large part to his own fielding error, yet limited the damage with two scoreless frames to preserve the win. .
Gillen and MacLean Provide Offense in Grinding Win Over Omaha
Tate Gillen and Will MacLean combined on five hits (5-for-8) with four RBI in the Bluejays' 8-7 win over Omaha on March 12. Each Bluejay delivered a pair of RBI, while Sailors smacked three hits in the contest.
