Men's Golf Opens Season in Fourth Place at Wildcat Invitational

Grant Feldman ties for second place.
MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Grant Feldman tied for second place to lead the Creighton men's golf team to a fourth-place finish at the Wildcat Invitational on Tuesday in Manhattan, Kan. The tournament was the first of the 2024-25 season for the Bluejays.
A junior from Austin, Texas, Feldman opened the season with a 3-under 69, then followed it with back-to-back rounds of an even-par 72 to score a 213. Feldman now owns 17 rounds of par or better in 30 loops since the start of last season. Feldman's performance left him tied for second with Kansas State's Cooper Schultz (76-73-64) and were eight shots behind medalist Nick Mason (65-71-69=205) of Kansas State. The field consisted of 75 golfers that competed on the Colbert Hills Golf Club course that measured 7,525 yards on its Par 72 layout.
Creighton senior Jake Boor tied for 22nd place following loops of 71, 73 and 79. His opening 71 was the second-best score in 30 career rounds at the collegiate level.
Redshirt freshman Radley Mauney tied for 30th place in his collegiate debut after circuits of 73, 76, 76 to shoot a 225.
Senior Cole Davis tied for 41st after shooting bookending a second round 79 with a pair of 75s, and sophomore Brock Kuhlman registered a tie for 46th place after rounds of 79, 75 and 77 for a 231 total.
Host Kansas State (285-282-283=850) fired a 14-under 850 total to earn a 16-shot victory in the 15-team field over runner-up Jacksonville State (290-282-294=866). Creighton's (288-296-300=884) fourth place finish was good enough to defeat regional rivals Northern Iowa (298-304-295=897), Drake (299-296-310=905), Bradley (299-301-306=906) and Omaha (314-306-305=925).
The Bluejays return to the course next Monday and Tuesday in Lincoln, Neb., with the Git-R-Done Invitational at Firethorn Country Club.
