Omaha, Neb. -- Continuing the annual trio of midweek games with Nebraska, Creighton Baseball faces the Huskers for the first time in 2025 on Tuesday, April 1 at 6:05 p.m. in Lincoln.

Scouting the Huskers (2025: 12-15, 2-7 B10)
Nebraska delivered its best weekend of the season, taking two of three at home from No. 5 Oregon State.
The Huskers enter the midweek game with Creighton hitting .259 as a team, led by Robby Bolin (.325) and Devin Nunez (.321).
On the mound Nebraska has a team ERA of 5.61. Closer Luke Broderick has an impressive 1.93 ERA with four saves and a 2-0 record in 9.1 innings.
Scouting the Bluejays (2025: 16-7, 0-0 BIG EAST)
Creighton is rounding into form with eight wins in its last 10 games, including six consecutive series victories.
Offensively, Creighton is hitting a .271, led by senior Nolan Sailors (.411), junior Ben North (.326), and transfers Dakota Duffalo (.325) and Nate McHugh (.325). Sailors also leads the team in hits (37), doubles (6) and runs scored (25).
On the mound the Bluejays have a team ERA of 4.25 with 186 strikeouts in 195 innings. Bullpen arm Matthew Aukerman is off to a 5-0 start recording 20 strikeouts, while closer Garrett
Langrell is 3-0 with five saves.
Bluejays Muscle Up Twice to Take Series in Samford
Down 3-0 and 5-3 in the series opener at Samford, Creighton scored two in the eighth to pull even then pushed across a single run in the ninth for a 6-5 win. Two of the Bluejays' three runs came on solo home runs from Connor Capece and Ben North. Down 5-0 the following day, the Bluejays got four in the fifth, four in the seventh and three runs in tenth to claim an 11-8 win in ten innings. Saturday's rally featured a two-run home run from Nick Venteicher and a solo shot from pinch hitter Jack Torosian to take a 9-8 lead in the tenth.
Torosian Belts First Pinch-Hit Home Run Since 2023
Jack Torosian's tenth inning pinch-hit home run at Samford on Saturday, March 29 came more than two years since the Bluejays; last pinch-hit blast. The last time it happened was on March 11, 2023 when Ben Gbur connected against BYU.
Creighton's Midweek Win Streak Moves to 16
Entering the season with 13 consecutive wins in midweek contests, the Bluejays have posted victories in the first three of 2025. Creighton won all 12 midweek games in 2024 as well as the final midweek contest of 2024. The last midweek loss came to Nebraska on May 09, 2023 in a 7-4 contest.
Koosman Scoreless Streak Grows to 14 Innings
Bluejay junior Ian Koosman pushed his scoreless streak to 14 innings with five shutdown frames in Creighton's 10-0 (7) win at Omaha on Tuesday, March 25. Koosman also threw seven scoreless innings in the Bluejays' 1-0 win over South Dakota State on Tuesday, March 18 as well as his last two innings versus Kansas State on March 11.
Bluejay Rotation Getting Reinforcements
Having already seen 2024 ace Dominic Cancellieri return from injury in early March, starter Jack Pineau made his 2025 debut against Samford this weekend. Combined with the development of freshman Wilson Magers and three strong midweek starts from Ian Koosman the Bluejay rotation is finding its footing.
