Getting to Know Ian Koosman
- Koosman made 19 appearances, including 10 starts. He tossed 60.1 innings, posting a 5.07 ERA and leading Creighton with nine victories.
- He also finished second on the squad with 59 strikeouts, closing the season with a 9-4 record
- Ian had a stellar performance on March 18, throwing seven shutout innings with nine strikeouts to best South Dakota State 1-0 as he picked up the win.
- The next week at Omaha, Koosman collected seven strikeouts, helping the team to a 10-0 victory.
- He nabbed his sixth win on May 6 with three scoreless innings to start the Bluejays’ 8-7 win over Nebraska.
- In an 11-8 win over Xavier on May 22, he threw four strikeouts and bumped his win-loss record up to 8-4.

- Ian was named to the All-ACCAC Second Team, and Division II All-Region First Team.
- At PVCC, Ian pitched 59.1 innings with a 6-1 record in 14 appearances.
2023 (Scottsdale CC)
- While at Scottsdale CC, Koosman allowed 46 hits, 18 walks and delivered a 1.52 ERA with 62 strikeouts.
- In 16 games at SCC, Koosman pitched 27.2 innings, allowing 21 hits.
2018-22 (Willmar HS)
- His senior year he played in 19 games, batting .373 with 16 runs, three doubles, one triple, one home run, seven RBI, and six stolen bases.
- During his junior year, Ian pitched 37.2 innings in 25 total appearances, allowing 30 hits and 18 runs, ending with a 2.79 ERA.

- Ian’s great uncle, Jerry Koosman, was a member of the “Miracle Mets” that won the 1969 World Series.
