Scouting Creighton (21-15, 7-2 BIG EAST)
Creighton's offense came to play on the road last weekend, as the Bluejays met Villanova and executed an offensive showcase in the two-day affair. The Bluejays outscored the Wildcats, 43-10.
Connor Capece and Nick Venteicher combined to drive in 18 runs during the Bluejays' 3-1 week, dropping a midweek battle with Nebraska.
Entering the week with Omaha and Butler on the horizon, Creighton is hitting .277 as a team, led by Ben North (.358) and Nate McHugh (.338). Two Bluejays skyrocketing at the plate recently are Lew Rice and Capece. Each player has raised their respective average more than 30 points over the past two weeks.
On the bump the Bluejays enter the week with team ERA of 5.43, but the return of Wilson Magers and the emergence of Shea Wendt have stabilized the Bluejays' weekend rotation.
Scouting Omaha (13-18, 8-6 Summit League)
With a weather warning cutting a three-game Summit League series to a doubleheader, Omaha battled North Dakota State to a split decision, winning the first game and dropping the second.
The Mavericks executed 20 hits — all singles — but nine batters were stranded on base in the 6-1 loss. In the two meetings, Hayden Lewis (.298) went 5-for-9 while Cardel Dick (.321) went 4-for-7.
On the season Omaha is hitting .275, led by Jackson Trout (.378) and Henry Zipay (.339). Trout leads the roster with 25 RBI.Â

The Sunday contest was unique as Butler took an early 4-0 edge in the first, yet the contest was tied 5-5 after seven. The game remained 5-5 until Georgetown scored nine runs in the 13th frame to win 14-5.
The Bulldogs face Eastern Illinois on Tuesday, but enter the weekend with an 8.87 ERA. Butler is 5-4 in BIG EAST games, yet went 10-20 in non-conference play.

Capece posted a .563 on-base percentage and a .857 slugging percentage versus the Wildcats, belting one extra-base hit in each contest.
Rice's Average Strapped to a Leadoff Rocket

Magers Continues Path Back
After tossing three innings in his first start back against Seton Hall on April 12, Wilson Magers delivered four innings to defeat Villanova on April 19.
