Men's Golf Finishes 3rd at Jackrabbit Fall Invite

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. --The Creighton men's golf team finished third at the Jackrabbit Fall Invite on Tuesday. The Jays shot an 887 (292+300+295) at the Minnehaha Country Club in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Creighton's 54-hole total of 887 was its best since March of 2012.
South Dakota took the team championship with an 867 (290+280+297) on the par-71 course that measured 6,424 yards. North Dakota State finished with an 878 (289+293+296) for second place. Four teams rounded out the field behind Creighton.
Jordan Rykal placed first individually with a three-round total of 212 (70+68+74), leading the Coyotes to the team title. Fellow teammate Sam Matthew finished one stroke behind Rykal with a 213 (71+70+72). Northern Iowa's Glen Walls and North Dakota State's Bill Carlson each totaled a 214 and tied for third place.
Sophomore Kade Brown finished in a tie for fifth place with a 216 (72+72+72) to lead the Jays. Senior Johnny Spellerberg carded a 221 (72+75+74) and finished just outside the top 10 with an 11th place tie.
Sophomore Andrew Holloway stroked a 224 (74+78+72) to finish 19th, freshman Ben Rogers tied for 21st with a 237 (74+76+77), and junior Steffen Lake totaled a 231 (74+77+80) and tied for 30th.
Freshman Jonah Buss competed as an individual and tied for 15th with a three-round total of 223.
The Jays return to the course Sept. 28-30 at the South Dakota Invitational in Sioux City, Iowa.
