
Men's Golf Earns 12th-Place Finish At Bill Ross Intercollegiate

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- The Creighton men's golf team placed 12th at the Bill Ross Intercollegiate on Tuesday. The Bluejays shot a 928 (307+308+313) at the Milburn Golf and Country Club in Overland Park, Kansas.
Wichita State captured the team crown by the slightest of margins. The Shockers finished with a two-day 878 (287+298+293), one stroke ahead of Air Force. The Falcons finished one stroke better than the leaders during the final round, but totaled 879 (290+297+292).
Wichita State's Grant Bennett ran away with the individual championship with a 10-under-par 206 (69+69+68). Brandon Bone led Air Force and finished eight strokes behind Bennett for second place (72+71+71=214). Gonzaga's Sean Walsh (69+70+75) tied for second while Joey Johnson (Missouri State) and Andrew Beckler (Kansas State) tied for fourth with even-par.
Junior Andrew Holloway led Creighton and tied for 44th overall. Holloway carded a 230 (75+78+77).
Senior Steffen Lake totaled 234 over three rounds (78+74+82) for a 58th place finish.
Junior Kade Brown (81+77+77) and freshman Josh McCollum (79+79+77) each finished with 235 strokes and tied for 59th.
Sophomore Jonah Buss rounded out the scoring for the Bluejays. Buss led the Jays after the first round with a 75, but ended with a two-day 237 (75+80+82) and tied for 64th.
Creighton returns to the links and concludes its fall season at the Homewood/Hilton Garden Airport and FGCU Classic at the Old Corkscrew Golf Club in Estero, Fla.
