Men's Golf Finishes Sixth at Zach Johnson Invitational

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- Junior Kade Brown shot a 217 (71+73+73) and tied for fourth place at the Zach Johnson Invitational to lead the Creighton men's golf team to a sixth place finish on Tuesday.
Northern Iowa took the team championship with an 874 (301+285+288) at the Glen Oaks Country Club in West Des Moines, Iowa. Bradley placed second and Oral Roberts finished in third. The Braves shot an 881 (294+297+290) and the Golden Eagles totaled an 882 (300+296+286) on the par-71 course that measured 6,961 yards.
Bradley's Drake Bushong finished with a 1-under-par 212 (69+73+70) and earned the individual crown. Eric Sikkema and Dustin Atkinson each finished in the top 5 to lead the Panthers to the team title. Sikkema shot a 215 (72+71+72) for second and Atkinson tied with Brown for fourth with a 217 (72+75+70).
Sophomore Jonah Buss shot a 221 (74+71+76) to finish in 14th place for the Bluejays.
Senior Steffen Lake tied for 32nd after a two-day 232 (81+79+72) while freshman Josh McCollum finished one stroke behind Lake and placed 36th. McCollum totaled a 233 (84+75+74) in the first event of his collegiate career.
Sophomore Charlie Bolton tied for 39th with a 235 (82+78+75).
Senior Tommy Anderson competed individually for Creighton. Anderson tied for 25th after a three-round-229 (73+78+78).
The Bluejays return to the links Oct. 11-13 at the UMKC Invitational.
