Bluejays blanked for the first time this fall.
Hiller scored off a feed from Casey Estey for her team-high seventh goal of the season, and second game-winner. Her shot from 15 yards out on the right wing beat Bluejay keeper McKenzie Meola into the far side of the net.
Hiller's score also snapped Meola's streak of 308:50 without allowing a goal.
Creighton moves to 8-4-2 with the loss, but remains fifth in the BIG EAST standings with a 3-3-0 league record. Providence moved to 10-4-2 on the year, including a 4-1-1 mark in conference games.
The first half featured just one shot on goal, with that coming by Providence in the 27th minute. The Friars had five of the six official shots in the first half, with CU's lone attempt coming from Lauren Sullivan veering wide in the 42nd minute.
Creighton uncorked the first three shots of the second half, including a pair on goal from Sullivan, but could not beat Providence keeper Kristyn Shea. Sullivan's best chance came in the 76th minute as her shot inched just over the crossbar.
PC's best chance in regulation came in the 83rd minute, as Casey Estey collected a deflection and sailed a shot from 10 yards out over the crossbar.
Providence held an 8-5 lead in shots at the end of regulation, with both teams earning three corner kicks. For the game, PC owned a 10-5 shot advantage.
Creighton was held scoreless for the first time in 14 games this fall, and Sullivan's school-record streak of eight straight games with a goal was snapped. The loss was also CU's first in four overtime contests this season, two of which have ended in ties.
The Bluejays return to action on Thursday, Oct. 20th, for a 6 pm match at reigning BIG EAST Tournament champion Butler.
