Bluejay Baseball Faces Omaha, then Travels to Butler This Week

Omaha, Neb. -- In the midst of an eight-game win streak, Creighton Baseball's longest since a 10-game win streak during the 2021 season, the Bluejays face Omaha and Butler in a four-game week. The matchup with the Mavericks is Creighton's annual kids game at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28.

Creighton's crosstown rival Omaha enters Bluejay home turf fresh off a 2-1 road series victory over Northern Colorado.
Recording just four wins in away games before facing Northern Colorado, the Mavericks battled past a 4-3 loss in the first contest of the series to outscore the Bears cumulatively 24-11 over the next two games.
The series highlight came in the final game when the Mavericks posted a 17-5 victory on Sunday, bolstered by offensive
performances from seniors Jackson Trout and Henry Zipay. Zipay and Trout combined for eight hits and six RBI in nine innings, leading the charge in a seven-run inning at the top of the third.
Zipay has been a consistent force at the plate, leading the team with a 1.092 OPS and a .415 batting average over 38 games. Trout just trails his teammate with a .886 OPS and .329 average in 38 games.
At the mound, Tanner Foertsch (2–1) and Ben Weber (2–4) have combined for an 8.39 ERA over 83.1 innings, tallying 73 strikeouts between them.

Seniors Kyle Hess delivered the second consecutive walk-off hit for the Bluejays on April 25, blasting an RBI single to right to give Creighton a 3-2 win in the 12th inning over Villanova. The last walk-off win also came off Hess's bat on April 24, 2024 to give the Bluejays a 5-4 win in 10 innings.
